Re: The Traveller Companion - Finalised!

Very exciting! (And I'd also be willing to do a proofreading pass (editing is part of what I do IRL) :)

Re: The Traveller Companion - It Exists!

Will there be any update to the Mongoose v1 Animal building rules?

Or at least some rules for converting v1 animals to v2? Seems like this was done for the sample animals in the Core Rules.

Homestead/Sindal - how much water?

Does Homestead (Sindal 1015, Trojan Reach 1715) have a Hydrographics rating of: 0 (per the v2 Core Rulebook, as well as the v1 Aslan and v1 Trojan Reach books), or 1 (per Pirates of Drinax, and travellermap.com)? ... or did it used to have 0, and water has been added to the world somehow? Also: how ...

Re: Passenger & Freight world DMs?

How adaptable is GURPS: Far Trader to other systems (e.g. CT, Mongoose)?

Yep, I just think the rules should be consistent with the text.

Re: Aslan aging

I just want to grant a lucky Aslan who rolls really well could also live longer, I'm basing this on strictly average rolls (7s). If you roll any lower, it doesn't get any worse (fortunately), but at least for the first few aging checks, you could stave off your aging crisis by rolling high.

Aslan aging

The Mongoose v1 Aslan book and the Aslan chapters in Pirates of Drinax say that Aslan males typically live into their sixties, while females usually live to their mid-fifties. Aslan males and females have the same stat bonuses: +2 Str, -2 Dex. So the "average" Aslan, barring Personal Development inc...

Re: Aslan Character Stats

The Aslan Alien Module book for MgT 1st edition explains all the things. All of them. It works with MgT 2nd edition as well. Any ship data would need minor tweaking if you're that detailed with ships. The Aslan chapters in Drinax update the careers, and include some useful clarifications/correction...

Re: Laboratory Ship Fuel Tanks

The deck plans for the original (afaik) CT version of the Lab Ship, introduced in the adventure Death Station, included a cutaway showing fuel tanks located in a ribbon under the floor, along with life support ducts. As for generating gravity: according to this website, angular velocity to get 1G "m...

"Both" makes the most sense to me as well - I was just wondering what the writer's intent was.

Passenger & Freight world DMs?

For the world-based DMs for lining up passengers (Core Rules, pg. 207) and Freight (pg. 208), are these to be applied based on the starting world, the destination world, or both? The DM tables just say "World" without specifying which one, and the only text I can find that implies which should be us...

Re: Is there a comprehensive 2nd ed Errata?

Would Mongoose ever consider collecting rules clarifications like these and maintaining a "Sage Advice" style document?

Re: Rulebook reprint

Maybe think of it less as an "errata sheet" and more of a "changelog". It's very helpful for owner of earlier printings to know what's changed.

Re: How Do You (Logically) Prevent Players from Skipping Payments?

Thanks for the historical perspective! Maybe it's as simple as that - you just make the payment wherever (probably though at an A or B starport), and as long as it's received there by the end of the month, the banks take care of the rest. That's easiest on the players, at least. But that would seem ...

Re: How Do You (Logically) Prevent Players from Skipping Payments?

A starship's jump drive could be equipped with a black-box transmitter, that automatically broadcasts the current state of the mortgage as soon as a ship comes out of jump, and then, if payment is overdue, at periodic intervals. Or the ship's computer could include a hardware element that adds a car...

Re: Upcoming Traveller releases

A couple questions about Behind the Claw:

1. Will it be set in 1105?

2. Will it highlight a few worlds per subsector (as in the previous Spinward Marches book), or every world (as was done in GURPS Traveller: Behind the Claw)?
