Re: Economics of shipyard

I think the biggest hurdle is going to be raw materials. Then the smelter would take that 2.4dT of ore and make 1.2dT of uncommon raw materials. And, per page 213 of the CRB, uncommon raw materials cost, on average, Cr20,000 per dT. If we extrapolate the cost of the light fighter's hull (MCr0.6) it...

Re: Economics of shipyard

To OP: Are you asking about how the rules work, or are you asking how much raw materials and what goods you require to build more advanced stuff? For instance, raw materials -> basic electronics -> advanced electronics. Or something similar to produce all the goods needed to make a spaceship, and t...

Re: Economics of shipyard

2) HG page 61 lists advanced vehicles as Advanced Tech, and I'd hazard to say that spaceships would be advanced vehicles. With that in mind, my opinion is you'd need 10dT of advanced goods per ship. Should probably include some amount of basic, some amount of advanced and some amount spesialist? " ...

Economics of shipyard

I'm interested in opinions and ideas for the economics of running a shipyard. Just as an example I have tried to make a minimum viable small craft shipyard using the HG 2e rules. I'm going to assumed that it is places in an astroid belt with access to raw materials. Mini shipyard station * 40 MCr * ...

Re: Deckplans for 1.000 ton or larger passenger ship

Stigtrygg, could not find the plans on that link, but googling the name got me: http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/pdf/travaramisdeckplans.pdf Thanks a lot. Found a few good deckplans in that pdf. Realised once I started looking at tham that I probably need something more like a 5k tonn ship for my a...

Deckplans for 1.000 ton or larger passenger ship

I'm looking for a decent deckplan for a passenger ship that is 1.000 ton or larger. Anyone have one or know where I can find one? Ideally it also has a drawing of the ship, but that is not a must

Re: RPG Suite

Not having a laptop, MAC or otherwise, I do not think over-heating will be a problem. The high CPU usage may be an issue though. Thank you for the feedback. Tried it on my stationary Mac too, same problem. The stationary mac has a dualboot with windows. So on the exact same hardware it use 16% CPU ...

Re: RPG Suite

On my Mac the tool use an insane amount of CPU just to show the main menu. This makes my laptop unbearable hot in a short time. I have discovered that if I use a program called cputhrottle I can limit the CPU usage. By limiting it to 60% it still runs at acceptable speed with out making my laptop ov...

Re: HG 2e PDF release date

On March 14th they said the following in reply to almost the exact same question on ther FB page:
A few small weeks - the rules are pretty much done (just a few tweaks) as are most of the ships, so we are now really just waiting on artwork.

Re: High Guard 2e, playtest or final version availability

In he core book some of the smaller ships were placed two to a page, and then on the next page you had the same two ships deckplans. I would much have preferred to have stat block and deckplan on the same page. In total it would have consumed the same amount of pages. Also a bit confusing which stat...

High Guard 2e, playtest or final version availability

I'm a new traveller player/referee. After getting the core rule book for 2nd ed I'm left with the distinct feeling that I got only half the system I need. Making, building and modifying a ship seems so essential to the game that I'm having trouble imagining a campaign where that is not possible. The...

Which Mongoose Traveller 1e books are compatible with 2e, if any?

Are any of the books from Mongoose Traveller 1st edition compatible with 2nd edition? If yes, which books are compatible?
