Re: Official Traveller Core Rulebook Update

Talking about errata, there's some discrepancy with the price of a Launch. The Launch included with the Type-R subsidised merchant (HG p. 138-9) is listed as MCr 5.607. This doesn't correspond to the Launch (HG p. 96) as this costs MCr 2.367. The Launch in the core rulebook (p. 188) is listed as MCr...

Re: Behind the Claw - Now in Stock!

Same question as Varulf: I've preordered the book and received the pdf a while back, but I haven't received the physical book yet. The status under "My Orders" when I log in to my account says "Shipped: 1". Should it have arrived in the Netherlands by now? I'm perfectly willing to wait a couple more...

Re: Better Grav Vehicles For Starships

From earlier editions of Traveller, there are a couple of examples of vehicles in various publications. I'm linking the original images by Rob Caswell on Deviantart (as he's the author). From Grand Census comes this IIS 4-Man Air/Raft (Grand Census is (c) 1987 Digest Group Publication, original on p...

Re: Contents of the Traveller Companion

Looks lovely!

And it looks like it will save me combing through all my old Traveller stuff (from Classic LBBs to Mongoose 1st ed and T5) for a bunch of details about a travelling in normal space, gas giants, and so on, just before I pick up the GMing reigns for our ongoing Traveller game :D 8)

Re: [Freelance Traveller] November/December 2018 CANCELLED

Jeff, my condolences. Strength to you and yours. There is certainly no need to apologise. We lost my father in a very similar way early last year, and my mother, brother and sister are still in some ways coming to terms with this. Take your time and attend to your family and loved ones foremost. Fre...

Re: GRAV plates and Grav Pong

The very first thing this made me think of is the old D&D spell "reverse gravity" (which apparently still exists in some form in more current versions, cf. http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/reverseGravity.htm ).

Or, someone read through too much of Tomb of Horrors or some other ancient D&D tome ;)

Re: Cargo Containers - sizes?

GURPS Traveller: Far Trader has info on containers (on p.56-58). The Series 4 (Interstellar) Standardized Cargo Container comes in 4 varieties (A, B, C and D), is 3m (10ft) wide and tall, and is 3m/6m/9m/12m long (for A/B/C/D). They are 2/4/6/8 displacement tonnes in size. This being GURPS, the con...

Wondering about this one as well (for the pre-order of High Guard). I couldn't find the answer thus far (but I might have overlooked it).

Re: All Over???

Did the playtest files get pulled from DTRPG? I can't even find them in my personal library there any more. I went to see if there had been anything changed in the High Guard etc. files. If not, there's something wrong with my DTRPG account... EDIT: I can find the files, but I can't find the product...

Re: New look forums

Also, is there an option to have the forum not take up the whole window width? I usually use a 1920x1200 monitor, and having the post text run most of the width of the screen doesn't make for easy reading. I could resize the browser window, of course, but there are other sites I use that do make goo...

Re: Typos & Suggested Edits

I think the further vs. farther spelling is a UK vs. US thing, where in UK English spelling further is the prefered version in all cases. And I think the whole book uses UK spelling throughout?

Inconsistencies, typo's, etc.

In the latest update (NEWTRAV_UPDATE_4_DEC.pdf), on page 60, under the heading Task Chain , there is an example I can't quite follow: For example, Erik and Kathya are trying to locate a hidden base on an icy moon. Erik has Electronics (computers), and suggests trying to augment their ship’s scanners...

Re: [Playtest Update]

A question (mainly aimed at Matthew):

Would you prefer a central thread about things like typos, inconsistencies and (missing) clarifications (i.e. the small things which do not seem "broken" as such, just unclear/not consistent/mistyped), or should we post those in their chapter forums?
