Re: [MongTrav 1e] Anagathics and aging roll modifiers

And while you were taking anagathics, you simply didn't make aging rolls?

Re: [MongTrav 1e] Anagathics and aging roll modifiers

How did this even work in Classic? There are some rules interpretations in the Classic -> Mongoose Traveller conversion that just don't make sense. Might be interesting to know how it was done in Classic, but I can't find anything about even taking anagathics while generating a character in the Clas...

[MongTrav 1e] Anagathics and aging roll modifiers

A character can start taking anagathics at any time. While using anagathic drugs, the character effectively does not age – add the number of terms since the character started taking anagathics as a positive Dice Modifi er to rolls on the aging table. If a character stops taking anagathics, then he ...

Re: Fast travel?

I'm trying for the middle-ground between "GM Fiat" and "do everything manually". The are, for example, rules for volleys, which reduce the amount of rolling and steps needed to fire many beams/missiles. They don't lead to the same results as though you'd rolled for each individual shot, but they're ...

Re: Fast travel?

You say: "In both the 1st and the 2nd edition, avoiding misjumps is trivial - more so in the 2nd, but in the 1st, you could just take more time with a power diversion in order to get your Int/Edu + Eng(Jump) modifier up to +5 (let's say +1 skill, +1 attribute, +1 expert software, +2 time steps), in...

Re: Fast travel?

State you planning a very boring run from point A to point B obeying all the rules of space travel and taking your time to make the best rolls to avoid mishaps. Calculate berthing, supply and maintenance fees for each stop needed including if gas giant refueling are possible to continue without a p...

Fast travel?

So, it came up in one of my earlier campaigns that the crew wanted to cross a fairly large distance, without engaging much with what they were passing along the way, because of reasons. Just straight going somewhere else, where somewhere else was three subsectors away. Are there any official or fan ...

Re: Challenge: Explain Our Planet (TR 3012)

I ended up using Epicenter's explanation.

I needn't have worried, however, since the players got distracted by a throwaway gag at the spaceport so much that I spun it into plot, and jumped away immediately after refueling without making the least attempt to investigate the world's geopolitics.

I doubt they'd be officially slaves, since the Imperium bans slavery.

Re: Challenge: Explain Our Planet (TR 3012)

The Traveller wiki (which may have already been researched; http://wiki.travellerrpg.com/Our_Planet_(world) ) Describes the inhabitants as Scout Service clerks. The planet may be set aside, by the Emperor, for Scout use. Or maybe set aside as an overflow world for when the worlds around it really g...

Re: Challenge: Explain Our Planet (TR 3012)

Well, an official answer would be dandy, but I'm interested mainly in speculation so I can pick something and run with it next week.

Challenge: Explain Our Planet (TR 3012)

Right smack in the middle of the Tobia subsector in the Trojan Reach, there is a world called 'Our Planet'. It has a breathable atmosphere - the pressure is a little high, but not so high as to make pressure suits or oxygen masks a necessity. It has gravity that puts it on the high end of the low-gr...
