Re: What DO high tech grav tanks look like?

I don't know what you have studied. I can tell what has not been thoroughly studied though... I have never engaged in a discussion about modern airpower versus modern armour. You are the one having that discussion with yourself when you're not taking the trouble to tell everyone they are wrong when...

Re: What DO high tech grav tanks look like?

Huh? If something gets destroyed then it must have existed beforehand.

Re: What DO high tech grav tanks look like?

Well how do you know what I have studied? Anyway you keep using the present tense but the original question was about the future, no? I'm not sure how you have so much factual information about battlefields of the future. I told you how tanks die in the future I visited - by artillery directed by......

Re: What DO high tech grav tanks look like?

So am I. Flat belly means lower silhouette and no need to use up valuable hull space with landing gear. In a high tech galaxy, not every soldier in every battle will be equipped with high tech I would say so being harder to spot with the Mark 1 Eyeball and hit with a point and shoot weapon are good ...

Re: What DO high tech grav tanks look like?

OK but without the benefit of a time machine and if I'm not allowed to refer to the CT rules especially designed for the issue it all comes down to guesswork and my guess as pretty much as I outlined a couple of posts above at least for a few TLs above our present. Reasons: the need to have heavy ar...

Re: What DO high tech grav tanks look like?

I'm assuming that RCS stands for Radar Cross Section? If so, that may not be much of an issue. Assuming NOE flying, standard radar and other sensors won't be able to detect them if there is any sort of terrain available to hide behind. While Grav vehicles will certainly fly higher than NOE to get t...

Re: Inaccurate Jumps

2) The consequence of not rolling high enough on the astrogation check. The only consequence of not rolling high enough on the Astro check is having to reroll it: "If the check is failed, then the astrogator must plot the Jump again. A Jump cannot be made until the astrogation calculations are comp...

Thanks for the review.

$2.99 ??? You could (almost) get the left arm of a Games Workshop 28mm figure for that kind of money

Inaccurate Jumps

Hi, Anyone have any guidelines on inaccurate jumps? There seems to be 2 parts to this: 1) The time part. If say you are in jump space 6 hours longer than planned that means the destination world will have moved on I suppose. I think I read the orbital velocity of the Earth is roughly 1/10,000th the ...

Re: What kind of ship uses a Launch as a Lifeboat?

For a ship that might have a lifespan of 80 years or more I reckon inherent flexibility would be a desirable design feature and 'fitted for but not necessarily with' fits the bill (here in the UK we'll soon be getting a new aircraft carrier...with no aircraft, for a pretty extreme example of that!)....

Free Vector Drawing Program for Deckplans

Hi, Long time lurker, first time poster, etc. I found a nifty online free vector drawing program at: https://www.youidraw.com/ I'm completely new to this kind of thing but after a bit of mucking around (grasping the idea of layers was a key breakthrough!) I knocked out this sample deckplan as a test...
