There are plenty of proxy figures available For bugs? Suggestions? I wouldn't kick anyone out who showed up with Tyranids. I do have a high tolerance for proxies, though. I suppose I was thinking of a more generic set of futuristic rules, though, with more generic armies to go with it: powered armo...

Why? While you and many old hands have a bunch of minis already and only need a new rulebook (if you want to use new rules, that is) it won't create much more market. SST as well as Gangs of Mega City 1 has one problem over WWII, Modern and Vietnam era games and that is the fact that there are no f...

Ad Astra is also working on an RPG; there is a Worlds of Honor RPG sub-forum if you want to see where they are. The combat system is MUCH more like a simulation. A buddy of mine picked it up and, after 'flipping' through the exhaustive set of rules, we decided that you could only play it if you have...

agreed anything that needs to land needs to be in scale, end of the day all these minatures are just pretty tokens.. so no hard fast rules i spose... I was just looking for opinions. I don't have a ton of experience with moderns (or aircraft minis in general), so I figured I'd ask those wiser than ...

Re: Model Sources for Modern Combat ?
Aircraft and Helos are easy enough to get (I picked up 1/100 scale prepainted kits, by Revell, for £4 each. An A10 and a Hokum. Don't want to use 1/72 aircraft, modern planes being pretty big. Undecided about the helos). I had a 1/72 scale A10 model in my hand, but put it back because I was worried...

It's a move back towards the Starship Troopers rules. I'll buy that it's a move back... I'm hardly an expert on modern warfare, but it bugs me that tank guns are so lethal against troops. I would think that 'Lethal Zone/2", D6+2' isn't that much harder to understand than 'Lethal Zone/2"', an...

Either this is a change from the original BF Evo - or lots of us played it wrong then too. I don't recall any BF Evo weapons having multiple dice for blast effect. They tended to have a different damage statistic for blasts, as well, often a D6 or something similarly small. I kind of preferred that...

[BF:E MC] Cover and troops with no armor save
There are several troops in the MEA with no armor save listed. Should they be treated as having a 7+ armor save? I would think they should gain some benefit from being in cover, but they don't seem to do so in the Rules As Written.

...cover is the main new thing - there's three levels of cover - obscured, light and heavy, with an increasing bonus to your armour save and kill score depending on how heavy it is. A quick search didn't find my answer, so I'll ask here: If you don't have an armor save, do you get one when in cover...

Isn't Centurion a ground-based combat game, and therefore it would be analagous to Gropos rather than ACTA? IIRC the Renegade Legion space combat games were Interceptor and Leviathan? Yes, but it uses pseudo-inertial movement that makes it a better fit for the ACTA game system than Babylon 5 space ...

Re: Tank vs Tank close combat
This leans towards ridiculous, but I don't see anything in the rules about tanks not close assaulting each other. The chances of doing real harm aren't very good though. It would rarely make sense to do this, if it is allowed. Perhaps as a second attack after using the main gun that turn. Tank vs. ...
