Re: computer dice intrusions
A Computer result is like jerking the wheel when someone else is driving. Try to be memorable, then try for fun, then try to reinforce paranoia. 1) R&D equipment should malfunction or be wildly dangerous on a Computer result. Using an experimental device should produce spectacular results. Paired wi...

Re: How dangerous could the Debriefing even be?
You want the "legally distinct" clause so that players don't overtly carry over grievances from that time their fellow Troubleshooter pressed the Down button on the lift as their Third Clone was walking on.... Let your players try arguing the "legally distinct" clause in debriefing. Friend Computer ...

Re: How dangerous could the Debriefing even be?
While each clone is a legally distinct entity, the players frequently fail to make that distinction. And who is going to contract Friend Computer when the lines get blurred during a debriefing? Not the other Troubleshooters... My favorite explanation is that the new clone needs to answer Friend Comp...

Action Cards
Should the Action Card "Opposite Day" have a Reaction symbol? The text suggests that it should be played in response to another player's action.

Re: Fallout Paranoia
I have had this suggestion made to me at several conventions. Personally, I feel the theme of convention games of Paranoia often embodied as the Minions from Despicable Me. But you could easily get a group in the Fallout universe. Just don't tell them. Let them figure it out, but not have the cleara...

Re: Confused about releases and ongoing support
I have run Paranoia with the early versions of the Kickstarter rules for the past 2 years at Origins Game Fair. In my experience, the cards are basically player aids to help the game's interactivity. Rather than rolling for initiative, you can bid a number on action cards to go first -- and bluff wh...

Re: Paranoia at RPG Convention?
I run a few sessions of Paranoia every year at Origins Game Fair. I create my own Paranoia missions for conventions -- usually based on a movie/TV theme like Venture Brothers (and Minions with Robots next year!). The problem with running a scenario is that it's no fun when people who played the adve...

Paranoia Miniatures
Quite a few people have posted on the Kickstarter comments about Paranoia miniatures. Why? You can run Paranoia with miniatures, mostly to assist the Ultraviolet GM in keeping track of the players during rapid fire play. If any player starts to treat it like a tactical miniatures game, you can reall...

Re: How I Learned to Use (and Love) Cards in Paranoia
Cards create interesting game play possibilities. Players with a face-down card creates tension about what it could be -- and a desire to peek. Give a player a face-up card and it might make them a target. At the Origins Game Fair, I use a "Mandatory Loyalty Deck" cards as GM to pre-resolve the accu...

How I Learned to Use (and Love) Cards in Paranoia
And fell in love the idea with the new reboot before it started. First of all, I am not involved in any way with Mongoose Publishing or this edition. But I have been playing Paranoia since 1988 and have used custom cards in the games I have run the past 4 years at Origins Game Fair. I thought I'd sh...

Re: The Classic Adventures in the Reboot Poll!
Voted for the Yellow Clearance Black Box Blues. Last year at Origins Game Fair I tried to run an update of Mark IV with a Venture Brothers theme and ended up with 3 (of 7) players who warmed up the week before by replaying the classic Me and My Shadow Mark IV. Luckily, I had made a few changes. Firs...
