Re: Researching New Technology

I have gotten the answers i need and will buy the Comspolite book. SoI am now leaving this thread behind. Kee...

Re: Researching New Technology
Okay, to stop being a killjoy: Now as a GM I like to work with players and not flat-out tell them "no." I've given you the reasons why you shouldn't do it. Now I can give you some reasons how you could integrate something like this into your game: 1) Inform your player that success is not certain a...

I liked this book. Only a few pages long, but enough to have fun with a S-Class Scout.

Re: Researching New Technology
Regarding reducing Jump Drive Fuel usage: Given that the HISTORY of the setting is almost 3000 years old and Jump Drive has been around (amongst the Vilani anyway) for at least twice that long. What does your player think he will discover that literally BILLIONS of other scientist haven't been able...

Re: Researching New Technology
Allowing the player to do so presents a number of options/issues. The biggest is that it's a HUGE change to the underlying aspects of jump travel throughout all space. Any researcher who is able to do this will be able to write their own research ticket, have more money than they could ever spend.....

Researching New Technology
I have a player who wants to be a scientist with a speciality focus in Physics and Enginner (Jump Drives) & (maneuver Drives) with a hope to discover new types of Drives that use less jump fuel in each junp or requires smaller space on the ship. She has not decided yet. How (if) you would allow that...

Re: Who are the Darrians and the Solomani?
Darrians * Scholarly and Scientifically minded: They value knowledge and science and it is almost a requirement for all darrians to attend university after school. Those who don't join the military. * They are a very community-minded people. You live to aid the community (mostly) in that you strive...

Traveller 5
Anyone has any opinions on this version of Traveller. Is it worth buying? Does t contain information about the Third Imperium etc What I have heard this far is that it is a mess of unnecessary charts and calculations of which most just adds extra time for the GM and players. And that the graphics su...

Re: Excell Spreadsheets for spacecraft creation
What I was looking for was a spreadsheat where you can quite fast build a ship by chosing the different components that can be found in Aliens: Darrians, High Guard, Scouts, Core book etc. Not doing random dice throwers.

Re: Data on the Heavy Gauss Rifle 5,5 mm
Or maybe it is the Gauss Sniper Rifle that is missing Riflfl e, Sniper, Gauss, 8mm (TL 13): Most gauss weaponry is designed to fi re rapidly but this sniper rifl e instead focuses solely on penetration and accuracy. Magnetically loading larger calibre gauss ammunition out of a low-capacity magazine,...

Data on the Heavy Gauss Rifle 5,5 mm
This weapon seems to have been lost from the Equipment book. It is mentioned in text but there is no data: Riflfl e, Heavy, Gauss, 5.5mm (TL 13): A heavy version of the standard gauss rifl e fi ring larger-calibre ammunition at a similar velocity, this weapon eats up power cells but hits hard at lon...

[Spica Publishing] Career Books
Are these PDF books worth the cost, I mean almost $20? That is what I usually pay for a 120-150 page hard back RPG book.

Re: Traveller Wishlists for 2015
Well I am a fan of the Third Imperium and that is what Traveller is for me. I am sad to see so many versions of Traveller and even more are wanted, thouh I understand people want to see their favourite SF book series/movoie/TV show etc. But I wish that there were less books published for non-Third I...

Re: Traveller Wishlists for 2015
1) Alien Book Droyne 2) Book about the Third Imperium, not just a sector (The first chapters of Spinward marches were awesome, expand that to a 192 page book or something with maps and pictures of various places 3) Book about Fift Frontier War These are enough, more will not be able to be written i...

Re: Alien Book Droyne & Minor Alien Books
I am finally refocused on finishing this book. Sadly, I put everyone else's priorities over my own. And I tossed two chapters I didn't like and am rewriting them from scratch. But I am trying to finish before the Christmas holiday. Don't rush it Don, we know it fell behind due to health reasons amo...

Re: Alien Book Droyne & Minor Alien Books
The Darrians are a Minor Race, and the Darrians book from Mongoose sets the format for later Minor Race books. The only other one of those so far is Luriani. A Major Race book includes an entire sector, while a Minor Race book includes just the subsector they call home. I can think of a few Minor R...
