Re: Aliens of Charted Space Vol. 1 - It Is Here!
Is there any word on when in December Aliens of Charted Space Vol. 2 will be out? I notice it's first on the list for December, which implies soon. I'm eagerly awaiting for it and The Solomani Front . We are aiming for the week of the 14th for Volume 2. We will have the last of the art in this week...

Re: 2020 Releases
So, we have less than a week of October left, and I see that Aliens of Charted Space 1 is still listed as an October release. Does anyone know when it will be out?

Re: Better Grav Vehicles For Starships
A couple of alternative explanations: The 1-space provides enough room to accommodate someone in vacc suit / combat armor / battle dress. The 1-space seat indicates a work station or command chair; ordinary passengers get much smaller seats The 1-space seat includes integral life support and simila...

Re: 2020 Releases
We are also going to try to do Aliens of Charted Space Vol. 2, though that is a little more of a stretch – this volume will bring the rest of the major races up to date, being the Solomani, Hivers, and Droyne. Hivers and Droyne!!! I'm really looking forward to this book! Those are 2 of my 3 favorit...

Re: 2020 Releases
Can anyone in the know comment what aliens are described in Aliens of Charted Space Volume 1 and Aliens of Charted Space Volume 2? Also, what's The Solomani Front - it sounds like it could either be an adventure or a Solomani sourcebook, which is it?

Re: What damages can be expected after interior exposure to vacuum?
For the ship itself (as opposed to cargo or supplies, which will likely be a mess unless they're in sturdy air-tight containers), my guess is that this depends on the type of ship - I'd expect a military craft or a paramilitary craft like a Type S Scout to be completely fine, and just require a good...

Re: Computer Implant For MT2e
It's too high tech. It shouldn't appear later than TL 12. Yes, I know it means reducing the computer rating below 5. Otherwise I like it. The Complex Cranial Processing Unit in the CSC is TL 14, as is the full data Neural Comm, so I could make a case for the Computer Implant being TL 14, but less t...

Computer Implant For MT2e
I remember reading about the Computer Implant in JTAS #22 , far too many years ago, and it occurred to me to try creating an updated version. My goal was to create something that isn't overwhelming (which the JTAS version was), but is also somewhat better that any of the related, but substantially c...

Re: Better Grav Vehicles For Starships
I've discussed this before http://forum.mongoosepublishing.com/viewtopic.php?f=89&t=120056&p=915870&hilit=vehicle#p915870 , and one of the things that I think needs to be kept in mind is how freaking huge a 4 dton air raft is. Both a large SUV and a Humvee are both slightly less than 1.5 dtons, whic...

Re: Higher tech grav chutes
Since you are proposing no vertical upward movement, perhaps then your device simply has longer-life batteries, but still one-shot electronics? Like once it's engaged you can use it to slow down, even hover, for say no more than five minutes, before the battery/circuits go out, and once activated i...

Andre Norton's Wyverns for Traveller
This species is adapted from Andre Norton’s Storm Over Warlock (free from Project Gutenburg http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/20788 ) & Ordeal In Otherwhere . They are innately psionic and have significant sexual dimorphism relating to both physical and psionic prowess, and on Warlock male Wyverns are...

Re: Better Grav Vehicles For Starships
... and 2 spaces = 1 dTon, ... No, not that easy: Spacecraft are measured in displacement tons ≈ 14 m³. Vehicles are measured in metric tonnes = 1000 kg. Unfortunately 1 ton in HG (14 m³) is not the same as 1 ton in VH (1000 kg). In general 1 Space = 250 kg, see e.g.: A vehicle can carry 250 kg for...

Re: Better Grav Vehicles For Starships
While I agree about Acceleration Benches, I would hesitate to squeeze four people into 2 Spaces, I would use at least 4 Spaces (the same as regular seating, but foldable). Except that in High Guard, Acceleration Benches seat 4 per dTon, and 2 spaces = 1 dTon, so I don't see a problem. Sure, it woul...

The Lamura & The Cytrialin Unity
Almost 15 years ago I wrote a project that was never published, which included a write-up of the two symbiotic Lamura species and the Cyrtialin Unity. I was looking for something else and found it yesterday, so here's what I have (adapted to current MT2e rules) The Lamura & The Cytrialin Unity The C...

Better Grav Vehicles For Starships
I was thinking about grav vehicles, and came up with 2 designs to replace the standard 4 dTon Air/Raft. The first version is 6 spaces, and follows all the rules, except that it uses an acceleration bench (4 seats/dTon or 2 seats/Space) as the back seat. Since it’s TL 13, I’m also assuming that this ...

Re: Higher tech grav chutes
I could see the cheaper grav chute being essentially a one-time use device. It only needs to activate right before you touch down, so it's duration would only need to be a few seconds for a combat drop (maybe up to 10, if you wanted to drop into urban environments and needed the extra time). That s...
