Pretty sure U.S. policy was to stop to fire anyway.Interestingly early war British tank gunners were specifically trained to fire on the move, wheter the policy had seased by 44 I do not know.

Before anyone panics im not advocating any official change to the MG42 rules,I originally wanted to find out why it had such a long range, and rte resoning behind it.May ammend the bipod range eventually(learning curve of 1st game probably gave to much of an open space between the points of cover...s...

Thanks for the replies, mainly wanted to see if it was a rule mechanic or based on actual tables.See the reasoning(not saying I agree with it). Wikepedea gives the MG42 effective range about 1050 metres to Brens 600 metres, but for MG42 it does not say whether it is when used in bipod or tripod.Guess...

Mg42 Range

Is it a mistake or was there a particular reason you gave the bipod mg42 such a long range 48" considering Bren/Bar is 24" and the aircooled .30 cal is only 30".Tried the game for 1st time tonight and found that a bit odd.

Exeter was hit by a Jap 8" shell at the the Battle of Java Sea.The shell which did not detonate still did a awfull lot of damage to the steam lines and her speed and power for weapons was severley reduced. She survived the battle and managed to return to Java but was later sunk by two Japenese heavy ...

Given the scale of the ships(even 1/600th) to the game scale, even the largest ship is going to be the size of a dot on the board. If you have a squadron of ships moving line astern the actual scale distance they cover from lead ship to rear ship can be as much as 5 miles in game scale. The general ...

Victory Query

Just checking the Lightning Cannon range in Armageddon is only 20" range and is not an error. This is not a complaint, happy to accept it if if its is,but would feel awfully silly if playing at that range of next 6 months to find it was a typo. Feel the ship is pretty much now as I remember it in seri...

I was wondering Matt,if we are going to get some nice sets of Modern forces obviousy U.S.British,French Russian etc, with SST compatible rules, are there any other Sci Fi universe's you are looking at getting the licenses that these would be useful for.Two that come to mind are the new series of DR Wh...

If you could give some indication of how you intend to run destryers it would be helpful.I have a scenario (for which I have written an article)that I have run both with my own set of rules and general quarters. It would be a good proven scenario to test play your rules on.To do it though I need deta...

How destroyers are handled depends on the level the game is set at.They will be small and insignificant if the game is ment to be battleships versis battleships. This would be fine for WW1 but not so for WW2,as Battlewagon actions were rare(they were in WW1, but with squadrons of the things a side ba...

This is just a thought, but would it easier to start developing rules for WW1 rather than WW2.Effective gun ranges were shorter, particularly with cruiser and destroyer guns. There was no radar,aircraft/submarines were far less effective,in many cases the use of DCT was in its infancy.Plus torpedoes we...
