Am I right in thinking that Mongoose plan to base the 3rd edition on a pre-existing Sci-Fi franchise? What I would like to see is a point system, the Priority system currently used is too erratic I find. I'd also like to see a more refined critical system, as it is now it is a lot of book keeping. ...

Battlefield Evolution: Space Battles.
As SST will no longer see the light of day, I've stumbled upon an idea that I think a lot of Sci-Fi 28mm gamers will really like. The rules for Battlefield Evolution work, it is a simple fact that they are some of the best (if not the best) rules for 28mm unit based games. The rules also have the gr...

Trouble with doing this is that players are bound to have arguements over the fan made rules, and be biased to their favourite army. What I think would be good is if Mongoose could do what the makers of Future War Commander did with Epic/Warmaster, and create a new SST with the rules from Battlefiel...

My guess is that it may have a tie in with a licence that Rebellion have worked on, or are working on. Looking at this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebellion_Developments#List_of_games I see that they have worked on Star Wars, this could also tie in with Mat's 'comment about the GL shrine. I'm not ...

This is not the end. I'd like to say I think you are right, but look at Starship Troopers, it is sad to say that that system is dead. I came to Mongoose through Starship Troopers, then moved onto Babylon 5 A Call to Arms. Things were good for a bout a year... then Mongoose made some really bad choi...

Can't say I'm shocked to read this. 2008 seems to me like a Year where Mongoose didn't know what they were doing. Sorry if this sounds negative*, but it just seems to be like watching a car crash in very slow motion. *I'm still left feeling a bit burnt after the debacle that was Starship Troopers Ev...

Anybody know how many flights of fighters per pack. (If its still the "rumoured" 2 thats more than a 100% increase in price even at 1.49 xchange) From reading the site it looks like it is one flight per pack, apart from the Starfuries come in packs of 2 for the same price, while something as small ...

Having just started making my own models, I can advise that Heresy have a lot of good modelling tools, their Clay shapers and Procreate are very useful. I also use odd items for the 'core' of a model and build up on it, one ship I'm working on is built from an Impega highlighter pen, I've seen some ...

Aye, but usually when someone starts going on about certain ships/races being all powerful in the show and that it should be reflected in the game. I find the trouble with the arguement about how powerful certain ships are in the TV show is that a lot of those ships or their crew have plot immunity...

certain things that people think are problems are being addressed: 2fers, boresight, FAP breakdown, whitestars I also hope that the critical damage system is being addressed, that to my mind has been the biggest cause of problems. On a personal note, I've never had an issue with Whitestars, so can'...

I see not much hope that the many balancing issues that exist are rersolved or taken into consideration any longer with P&P. Indeed many Germany players have already given up on the supplement as another Armageddon desaster which will only add "cool" things but make the game balancing only worse. Y...

Ok, just change the ships background to reflect it is carrying 5 Troops worth of Soliders of Darkness. Issue solved, with out having to tweak the ship. Regarding Shadows in combat, I think they would if need be, as they can move about without being seen by all the races bar the Vorlons and other Anc...

I know it's only a small ship but that could phase in and assault a ship on turn 1. Seems like a game winner skirmish class takes out a war class ? Good point, how about if it couldn't use the boarding action in the same turn it uses it's Hyperspace Mastery? This way it jumps in and has to endure a...

The Phantom idea is okay but I think the damage is a bit much and the AD of the weapons seems a bit OTT for a skirmish level ship. I would say make the Damage 15 (no pinning) and reduce the AD to 6. Many people have said this, my thoughts where to have the gun short ranged but very powerful, it is ...

Shadow Skirmish PL ship ideas.
Broken off from the P+P Shadow changes thread. Per Matt's request for Shadow Skirmish ideas and from another thread, go ahead and rip this idea apart and see how much of it is worth it. Czuschlag’s Shadow "Infiltrator" or "Corsair": Just as Shadow Ships evolve in power as they age, so too can Shadow...
