Re: 10 Tn Zho Fighter take two...(feedback applied)

What if the winglets are canted inward towards the fuselage? oddly to my eye the same sized wignlet canted inward was harder to notice so I had to tweak it slightly. http://orig14.deviantart.net/02c7/f/2015/217/3/b/small_winglets_inward_by_wbyrd-d94bhy3.png I really like this one. Looks cool. Has a...

Re: Zhodani 10ton fighter

The tail is too flat, and there is no fin. The examples we have from CT involve either an organic flowing look (the fighter on the SDB) or a simple, angular, almost crystaline look (the Vlezhdest). The Zhodani show no signs of applying a "mecha-godzilla" look to their organic hull forms. Different ...

I like their stuff too - but this had enough bits hanging off it to be a Zho ship for my tastes. Different enough from the standard Imperial type fighters anyway.

Zhodani 10ton fighter

A design by wbyrd at Citizens of the Imperium. I really like this little fighter – had a real Zhodani feel to it to me. Hopefully I will be able do a few more deckplans from wbyrd's designs. Full deckplans for this little ship over at…. http://woolshedwargamer.com/2015/08/03/zhodani-10-dton-fighter/...

As a GM unless there was a plot reason for the charge not to work as expected I would say "door breached".

Express Boat Deckplans

Hi Chaps My go at the CT Express Boat. I think if I were a pilot I would prefer the MgT Express Boat from Scouts: Page 77. Full plans at link below. http://woolshedwargamer.com/2015/07/08/scout-service-express-boat-classic-traveller/ https://woolshedwargamer.files.wordpress.com/2015/07/xboat-part.jp...

Gazelle Close Escort deck plans

My version of this - I tried to follow the CT Supp 7 plans as far as I could. Quite liked how this one turned out. Also some thoughts on this ship design - built at time when mutinies were a problem - yeah right. As usual full plans over at the Woolshed. http://woolshedwargamer.com/2015/07/06/gazell...

20 ton Imperial Navy Gig

I thought I would do my version of a few CT starships in between other projects. The first is the 20ton gig from the CT Supplement 7. I just looked through the MgT Supplement 7 and couldn't find this vessel. I was sure I had seen a MgT official deckplan for it somewhere. Full sized plans at the link...

Re: Space Romances In Traveller

I just remembered a game I ran where one of the PCs was in love with a 'companion' android. No one else in the game figured that his 'wife' was not a real person. They did know that she was a lousy cook (a flaw in her programming that he couldn't fix).

Re: Space Romances In Traveller

Never had PC-PC romances in a Traveller game (have in a FRPG a long time ago) but plenty of PC-NPC romances. Had two weddings even (and in some time jumping a family or two was created). The campaign skipped several years at a time once the PCs got rich enough to give up travelling as a career. At t...

1000-dton Modular Freighter

Hi chaps Just another deck plan of a ship I have had an idea about for ages. I am sure there is a similar ship in 2300AD but have not got access to my Ships of the French Arm book at the moment. Did the plan and then did the High Guard stats for it - sort of Knocked this out this week - while we had...

Re: Reduced Fuel consumption by Tech Level

10% per Jump right? That's the fuel usage you're aiming for? Anyway, did you look at this rule yet? http://www.freelancetraveller.com/features/rules/tech/tweakjd.html Sorry - I meant 10% of ships mass per jump number was what it is now - so somewhere between 10-60% of the ship. I just cannot see th...

Reduced Fuel consumption by Tech Level

Just a question chaps. Forgot the Universal constant, C and all that crap. The real constant in the Traveller universe is that at any tech level from the introduction of Jump Drives right up to maximum Imperial, drives still use the same amount of fuel. 10% per Jump right? So has anyone done any wor...

Re: How grav drives may work.

Probably that's the difference between D&D, Star Wars, Star Trek and Traveller. With D&D you can chalk it up to magic; with Star Wars it's the plot; with Star Trek it's pseudo-science; whereas with Traveller, you try to make sense of the underlying mechanics. I have never played a game where a bunc...

Re: How grav drives may work.

I have read this thread with some amusement. Since I started playing Traveller in 1977 I don't think this question has ever come up in a game - i.e. - how does anti-grav work? It just does. Same way as the Jump Drive does. Everyone I have played with both as player and GM accept the suspension of di...

Re: How grav drives may work.

Condottiere's thread on ship design and his proposal for a tractor beam got me thinking about how to do it so it complies with what we definitely know about gravity. I just wave my hand and that explains everything. Yes, that works until you get very educated & creative players. Then it doesn't wor...
