Saving throws are normally made every 20 cGy at a DC determined from table xx. Normally the lowest range, which their RD matches, is used. The exception is any instant dose of 100 cGy or greater. The sudden shock to the system causes them to save vs the highest effect their RD is in range. Failure ...

Re: Radiation: variant rules
To make it more deadly (if that's what you wanted) you could force multiple saves when an instant dose is a multiple of 20. So if someone took 100 RAs of damage, he'd have to make 5 saves in a row. Or to make it a little less deadly, increase the DC of the save by 1 for every full increment of 20 R...

I prefer a smaller scale for Mek Combat use. This would make them more affordable and better for game play. The 6-8" scale would have it's uses though. At 8" you could make a (slightly under scale) Large size Warmek for use with 30mm minis. They would be right for a ground scale of 1" = 2m. IMHO th...

1. Advancing the timeline is a good idea. 3. Good plan. No offense to the artists but some of the current ones really don't fit. The Maximillian's armour plate is way too bumpy. (Same for the Roland and Charlemagne.) It would be cool if the current trend in military vehicles of stealthier design was...

Agreed. The most extreme example is the B-3 bomber. With DR 50 its nearly immune to small arms. Yet a single burst from a 10mm maching gun automatically destroys it. I cooked this up as a fix: To convert SP damage to HP damage multiply by 20. Penetration is equal to the weapon's caliber. If an objec...

It dosen't quite remove it. Although they only have a 10% chance of setting a mine off if they do it automatically renders them immobile. Tracks and wheels are more resistant to detonations but suffer more of them. The immunity of an airskirt to HP damage is problematic. If wheels/tracks were on the...

60 mm autocannon
Does anyone else find this to be a pretty poor wepon? I can mount a 30mm and 40mm in the same space. They will have 90 and 60 shots respectively with only one ton of ammunition, more than the 30 a 60mm gets. The 60mm autocannon does more damage only if the target has a hardness of 4 or more and pays...

Cannons vs Railguns
A railgun is more deadly than a cannon firing APDS ammunition. Cannons have 4 types of ammunition to choose from though. Electrothermal cannons have enough advantage in rounds per ton that they can carry as many APDS rounds as a railgun and still have a good amout of the other types as well. Assume ...

I was reading this and thought of this topic. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/munitions/m943.htm Apparently the STAFF round dosen't need modification to the turret. Presumably this means that the 20 degree elevation of the M1A1 is enough. Obviously the terminal guidance calls for a sc...

Re: Do any of the supplements include Mag-Howitzers?
Once I have Soldiers Companion in hand, so I know what is available, I plan on designing light howitzers, mortars and magnetic accelerator howitzers. Any word on this, Lane? I have a prelim idea for a 105 mm howitzer but I'm too slack to do mortars. Does anyone know if one of the suppliments has to...

Artillery Expert from Armoured Companies: Is requireing weapon focus in an indirect fire weapon and accident? Its a feat that is practically useless for them and is highly unlikely to be chosen. The only reason to take it would be to qualify for this feat. Improved Warmek Laser Precision: Combined f...
