Very Unique Knife...Yeah That's A Knife !!! (Atroposknife "Fortel") https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3amfJsZ4Nwo I guess I'll have to provide the commentary. Knife and fork; but that knife grows like Pinocchio's nose. Kinda reminds me of a sticksword, well, stickknife. The prongs? Add a battery for ...

Re: Pentagon Wants to Test A Space-Based Weapon in 2023

I don't think it will happen, because it would go against the interests of those who actually matter to the Senate, and by extension the body that ensures the survival of the current regime, the corporations who have investments and interests in communications satellites.

Re: One shot Jump Drives

Re: Future TLs, or different types of "impossible" in scifi

As I recall, the Boner Bee was optimized for subsonic low level penetration, and had a stealthed airframe.

You could replace it with normal aluminium and composites, but the engines would still be gas guzzlers.

I would assume the increased length of the barrel imparts greater range and accuracy, while still being able to be up close and personal.

Especially if they have to quarry actual marble, rather than have three dee printing.

In terms of luxury, part of the expense and enjoyment of them is that the materials are difficult to obtain and painstaking to assemble.

Maintenance cost is zero point one percent per annum, which could be under three thousand bux for a ten tonne drive.

Re: One shot Jump Drives

Seventy five percent discount isn't large enough to risk one shot jump drives beyond the initial transition, or even to bother building them in the first place.

I will speculate that the manufacturing process is replacing some or more vital element(s) with a cheaper and less durable substitute(s).
