Re: Question About Quartering

It depends, on whether he's has a bunk on a tramp steamer or he's parked his yacht in orbit. If he incognito, or if he's actively using his social standing as a bonus in encounters. If so, once his encounterees discover he's staying in accommodations below the standard expected, those bonuses become...

Testing GYROJET Rocket Guns - Why were they a commercial failure? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJAXpyt8-oQ We were able to make the impossible happen, test out two rare Gyrojet rocket guns. Remarkably, instead of just taking one or two shots, we were able to take 4 shots. We were able to learn a...

And when it's out of juice, you can slingshot it.

Or, it provides it's own juice as propellant in a gauss rifle.

That would be Branson, he likes sticking his fingers into any publicity rich environment.

I think with Musk it's a question of keeping his attention focussed.

Bezos it might just be a question of the Newton's first law..

Re: Ship Design Philosophy

Cost benefit London Sydney in two hours. Or Tokyo. Or San Francisco. It's probably in the black budget, for the Air Force to develop a bomber or weapons platform that can achieve this and go round for a landing back in the continental United States. Whether Elon Musk, that Virgin guy, and/or Bezos c...

Re: How to run a siege ?

If assault was easy against a supposedly prepared position and an aware adversary, no one would bother with sieges.

Risk reward would have to be worth it, either for an assault or a siege, because you don't want to find the positions reversed, such as at Alesia.

I was curious how Star Wars ships would fare in a virtual wind tunnel! The results were super interesting!

Aerospacedynamics.

Arguably, you could shape deflector screens into the optimum form for flying.
