Re: Book 10: Cosmopolite - Now on Drivethru
Techno-Guru, there are a few new careers for Citizens, there are Artisans (who make stuff), Functionaries (like lesser Nobles) and Pillars of the Community (also like Nobles). I want to play a Pillar, specifically an Agitator, for my next character. There's a new Life Events Table (D66) that takes ...

Re: Traveller Writers Wanted!
Haven't been on this in a while, was busy earning my Associates in Medical Billing. Is Mongoose still looking for freelance submissions? And do they still need pirate submissions in particular?

So, for those who have it, what is in the book?

Re: Traveller Writers Wanted!
If this has been asked already I apologize. But if you are still looking for Pirate Groups is there a particular format you want us to use for submissions beyond the style guide on the first page? Something like 760 Patrons or the NPC write ups for the executive board of that one mining company in B...

Re: Traveller 5th Edition
It might be just because I started with MgT but honestly I'm not impressed by this. Nothing particularly grabbed me and much of it is an appeal to a sense of nostalga I don't have. That and having to give out about $150 is more then I'm willing to pay sight unseen even if it is for a six hundred pag...

Re: Traveller Writers Wanted!
This probably is a silly question but do you prefer that promising writers start with a query letter or dive right into the submissions?

Re: Traveller Writers Wanted!
Hmmm, I'll have to think about this. I might have a minor race I can submit but most of the stuff I wrote for the Traveller system was for Reign of Discordia. I'll go look at my species notes again... Edit: If we elect to be paid in cash instead of Mongoose merchandise, will we be paid by check/cheq...

What about a Citizen/Scholar book for Traveller?
Well, they are the only two careers left that haven't gotten an official splat book yet so why not? Personally, in addition to the expanded careers and equipment lists containing specialist tools, I would like to see sections on establishing and running colonies/outposts as well as ways to include r...

I really do believe there would be enough interest in this to make it work. Military campaigns do NOT have to be just dungeon crawls as has been suggested. My recent experience with Godlike and past experience playing a WW2 campaign using Cyberpunk 2020 as well as a 3 year game of Twilight 2000 hav...

That's fair enough... personally I'm loving the RoD setting and it has everything I want. Sure it has one or two tiny bugs, but imo every official Mongoose Traveller product I've bought to date has at least twice as many bugs, omissions and errors... so to me if I wouldn't be able to recommend RoD ...

Also books like Robot. And an occasional Signs & Portents one as well. True, although I don't recall Robot mentioning anything about robot specific careers. It would make sense though. Signs and Portents careers... I would definitely be behind the idea of including them for completeness but in gene...

I have not seen one yet. :( Same, which is a bit of a shame as I would have found it rather useful to know what options are available in a certain supplement or which book I'd need to read for this or that career. I imagine they'll wait till they are done creating new careers... Well, for Mongoose ...

Master Career Index
My apologies if this has already been asked before, but has someone complied a master list of the expanded Traveller careers released by Mongoose so far? I'm just looking for a short list of the careers listed so far, what book they're in, and maybe a one or two sentence blurb about what they do. Th...

Re: Confused about qualifications and internal career move
Take a look at the character generation flowchart. Each term of the career begins with Step 5, which is to choose a specialization. Therefore it is no problem to move between specializations of the same career, and a qualification roll is not required. hmmm, I wondered about that myself with regard...

I should say that personally I feel it's time to draw a line under the career books. Well, if there's one thing for certain it's that the line will be drawn soon enough. We have already covered all the major careers detailed in the core book... except for Citizen and Scholar. One way or another we'...

You could call it Citizens of the Imperium? (or maybe just Citizens?) Within it, you could detail all the the education possibilties (school types) rather than just having a seperate Scholar career. Citizens works, I feel Professionals is a strong contender. I wouldn't call it Citizens of the Imper...

The next career book?
Perhaps a little early but what are people's thoughts on the next career book? Granted, we don't even know if Scholar and Citizens will be treated seperately or not (at least I don't, but then I don't listen to the podcasts/read the blogs all that much.) But besides that, what do people think?
