Re: 40k Mod on the basis of the SST Core Rules

Hi Arkon, I like it. It's still looks exactly the same as a battle company (so no inquisitors out to burn the heretic  ). My comments, Battle Company Change to Space Marine Tactical Platoon structure to 3x Space Marine Tactical Platoons of Lieutanent and 2x Space Marine Tactical Squads. Eac...

Re: unit stat cards for SST and 4@K armies for BEVO

I'm unaware of any cards (an would like to see any that might exist), but there are a few of us slowly working on a 40K mod with the SST rules (which are very similar to the Battlefield Evolution rules). Feel free to join us: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=47558

Re: 40k Mod on the basis of the SST Core Rules

Remember that shotguns carried by scouts and guardsmen aren't the same - scouts use "manstopper" rounds that have massively powerful charges; effectively it's a pump-action elephant gun. True, I think that Marine scouts and Adeptus Arbites use similar pattern shotguns, and bolter rounds are issued ...

Re: 40k Mod on the basis of the SST Core Rules

I return! finally. Sorry for the long disappearance guys. Been pretty busy. :) Yeah, that's a good line for me as well. sorry for the long break again. The topic is very extensive and for a guy how write and speak English not as his mother tongue is still more difficult, to write the whole subject ...

James, have another vote for a Traveller version if you are keeping a tally anywhere. (Now back to waiting for Crystal Raiders to get to my FLGS....)

Re: Non-weapon discussion

Apologies for the delay in replying, and the long post.... So what should we do? Should we drop this vehicle or keep it and think about some values? Sadly, I think we need to include it. It would be very helpful for me if you could tell me which units and weapons seem illogical to you. Then we could...

Re: Army Skill Levels

But I would like to know if you have taken the initiative into account for the movement distances. This point was discussed in the old thread, because the initiative is not considered in the SST system. In my view, we can only consider this point about the speed of a model. Because the melee is fig...

Army Skill Levels

Ok, for the army skill levels, it might be worth throwing some ideas together and see what we can come up with for the basic troops of each race and their standard ranged weapon. Then we can see how they compare to each other. e.g (Wolfprophets Guardsman, and Arkon4000s marines). Imperial Guard Troo...

Weapon discussion

Ok, this might be a bit disjointed in places. And I'll try and gather some thoughts about skill levels. Please remember that we create a mod and don't make a 1:1 transfer. This does not work, for that the differences are too great between the both rulesets. I take the original rules as a source of i...

Non-weapon discussion

I'going to split my post, first one for the non-weapon discussion, I'll post again with the weapon discussion a bit later more in an attempt to de-clutter my comments somewhat. Incidently, the 40K armies I have are Eldar, Space Marines, Deathwing and I'm slowly building a small force of Elysian Drop...

Sorry, but this might be a bit of a long rambling post... My thoughts on the Space Marines so far. SPACE MARINES Move - reduce all infantry by -1"? First Company Assets All Terminators - Drop Parry, bring it back into profile through weapons. I'm still not sure about Terminators being Hit 7 - it doe...

Resin's pretty good to work with, although some mixes can be quite brittle. The only common flaw I have found with resin is 'bent' pieces, although this is easily be remidied with steaming (e.g. a kettle) and gently bending back to shape. It can also get similar pitting, and significantly more flash...

IIRc Otatarel only grants immunity to the magic geneated by the newer Warrens but not the Eldar Holds? Yes, a T'lan Imass uses his magic in the presence of a drawn otataral sword in the first book. I'll have to have a look at the second book as IIRC that talks a bit about the Oratarel mines? Yes, t...

Apologies for forgetting about this. I seem to be getting very distracted lately. Some comments for you. Barghast are decendants of the Imass that did not participate in the Ritual of Tellann. As far as I remember, they also tend to use a lot of different weapons, it could be based on Tribal prefere...

Re: Runequest: Malazan Empire Project

I must point out I have only read the first book so far, and some people may not agree with the design I present below. The get reading! :D Broadly OK, I've no idea what the stats mean someone else will need to check through that, but the background seems to be a basic introduction. The Tiste are '...

Great job there LBH. Sit back and admire them, that paint job is all yours, so bask in it. And boy does it look so much better then bare metal. Bit of feedback for you. As godsgopher has said, white is one of the hardest colours to paint well (along with yellow), and you have a done an excellent job...
