Re: Where are all the pics of painted minis? SF

Love the alternate color scheme on your saucers! Give them some additional visual interest without straying too far from the "offical" version. That's just what I was aiming for, something along the lines of Star Fleet modifying their appearance over the course of the war. I have some painted stark...

Klingon DN varients

Took on a C9 a D5WD and two D6 with two CA+ and four FFB yesterday.

Excellent fight, very close battle.

One comment about the C9 was that its shield score seems a little high.

Re: Federation Transfer/Decals Sheet

I picked up some "K" (Klingon) series decals from Starfighter-Decals. They are excellent! By far and away superior to all others I have tried.
Inexpensive as well.
They add a nice touch to the Klingon machines.

Re: why have the Kizinti been neutered?

Well lets see. Rules just released. OMG drones with huge range and unlimited ability to concentrate fire were OP: 100s of posts and topics. Last few months since 3 ship limit and roll to target over 16", number of topics and posts that drones are underpowered: Erm none that I can remember. So maybe...

Re: why have the Kizinti been neutered?

Rerednaw Post subject: Re: why have the Kizinti been neutered? I played all factions in SFB and SFCTA. I have played against Kzinti, under the original "OMG OP" drone rules and slaughtered them. I don't find drones excessive or worthless at the moment. I couldn't be more in agreement with you Rered...

Re: [Star Fleet] MGP Federation Ship Cards

My group plays the advanced bridge (being a trait) always maintains the crew quality at 4 unless your crew quality is higher. Essentially it supersedes critical damage from crew hits etc. until the trait is lost.
To play it any other way doesn't make it much of a trait.

Re: ACtA in Canada?

Hi. I'm interested in the system. Don't have any ships yet...want to try the game first. I live in Markham but can come down to T.O. for a game. Let me know. Waiting for the other fella, Allerka, to decide if he wants to sell his already pre-painted minis. Thanks. Victor Hi Victor, The next time we...

Re: ACtA in Canada?

Hello, I'm in Toronto and play regularly with a single opponent. I have a fleet of federation ships and klingon ships all painted up. Gorns are enRoute. My buddy has a Kzinti fleet on the way as well as a Fed, Gorn and Klingon fleet ready to go. I'm interested in new opponents. Drop me a line if int...

Finlos,
Well, the theory is pretty simple and the fix is dead simple. Personally if you were ignored it was probably because of the elegance of your fix!
Congrats!

Re: Musings on plasma

I think that an excellent option would be to change nothing about plasma except to reduce the chances of hitting with defensive phaser fire. Consider removing the acc mod from all phaser fire against plasma. This reduces the effectiveness of the phasers and still keeps the game quick. A 50/50 chance...

Re: Musings on plasma

To my way of thinking escort vessels are designed to defend (escort) carrier groups.
As a big gun proponent the lack of heavy, direct fire weapons should offset the advantages of defensive fire power.
I'll be trying them out in any event and look forward to seeing what they are capable of.

Re: Worst ship?

Myrm, Thank you for your input. I'm not looking for an argument. Just presenting my opinion of the worst ship out there as it stands in the rule book. I don't feel there should be a penalty to the WE. Its fire power is fine as is. An example i would site is the Romulan KE. One "R", two "F" torps, sa...

Re: Worst ship?

Myrm, I couldn't be more in disagreement with you. In SFB for example, the war eagle, flat out, uncloaked, no power to weapons could make 2/3 the speed of any other warship in the game following the same actions. Conversely, it was an extremely capable cloaking opponent. Underpowered is a misnomer i...

Re: Worst ship?

Undoubtedly the Romulan War Eagle.
It is over priced (130 would be a better cost) and suffers the underpowered trait.
The only ship in the game with the underpowered trait I might add.
An easy fix that we follow in my campaign is to replace the underpowered trait with the slow trait.

Cheers,

Re: Star Fleet Tactical Challenges Tournament - Jan 12th

I'm sorry I'm in Canada...with the exception of the "New" stuff NCA, NCL, DW, etc. I have three or more of everything Federation. It sounds like a sweet battle! :P I would strongly recommend getting the remaining ships necessary for those who are crying "My fleets are too small..." The battle would ...

Re: $18 shipping on a $75 order...

Mr. Sprange I took a look at the USPS international price calculator for Canada http://ircalc.usps.com/?country=10440 included a Fleet box and Decal sheet with the weight of the shipping box (1lb 10oz.). Total came to $8.30. Same as the postage on my box with the above mentioned materials. I would s...

Re: $18 shipping on a $75 order...

Concerning spending projections, I'm interested in having a fleet of all the major races plus extras so that I have some flexibility when building that perfect squadron. At $15 a pop and $150 for a fleet box things add up plenty fast. Plus there are other expenses, scenery, battle boards, ancillary ...

Re: $18 shipping on a $75 order...

Well, It's been awhile since my last post. To answer Mr. Sprange question concerning shipping. I believe he should charge cost+ for shipping. These days it is easy to determine mailing costs based on three standard box sizes (envelope for the decals) charge postage plus a small premium for handling ...
