Re: The Beyond: A Revision
Re:lobbying - There are basically two paths. The T5SS (I'll poke again re: the mailing list) will respond best to corrections. A small, carefully considered list of reported problems paired with suggested fixes is easiest to review and consider. Done incrementally, over time, these can add up. In co...

Re: The Beyond is a mess
The Beyond is indeed a mess. The preliminary integration of the Paranoia Press version of the sector into the T5SS dataset was done by Don McKinney shortly before he passed away, so much of the context was lost. The most effective way to work to improve it is to join the mailing list at http://wiki....

is this project responsible for this? :-) Traveller Map: Move Distant Fringe to rim-trailing of charted space. edit: Their old position was right on the edge of the spinward side rift, basically where DR is headed. And now they move within a week or 2 of DR being announced. Yes. The move of this AT...

It works in one direction only. Regina to Capital, J-2, Imperial worlds only, works fine. Nope - it only looks like it does. If you limit the path to Imperial Worlds it will report "No route found". The Regina-Capital route passes through Wal-Ta-Ka (Deneb 2713) which is not an Imperial world (alleg...

Re: JTAS Kickstarter - Funded and Stretch Goals Unlocked
Yep, Matt and I are in touch. Baldo: what would you hope to see about Ruupiin? To be honest, I expect it to have plenty of pacified, cookie-cutter garden worlds under the watchful eyes of Steppelords, a handful of interdicted sophont homeworlds still being guided to the true path, lots of inhospitab...

Re: Optima substitute for Google Drive documents
Another font topic: What is the font in the body text of the classic Traveller books? Also Optima, or something else? If Optima is only in titles, the right Google Docs solution might be to put the title into an SVG, with fonts converted to paths. The body font for the Classic LBBs was, per LKW, He...

Re: adventures in desktop publishing
Funny thing is Traveller maps often don't include the star type of the primary, and I think the star a planet orbits is an important thing. Yep. The classic maps by GDW were focused on (wait for it...) space travel, and show the bare minimum: "is liquid water and/or a gas giant present for free fue...

It was the same person mentioned upthread ("BlindGuy")
Also, I fixed the demo I put together: https://travellermap.com/tmp/vo.html - if you turn on "Voice Over" on an iPad it's somewhat usable, but not polished.

Re: Questions about playing while Visually Impaired
Wow. That map is amazing. Yeah... that map... might be very hard to convert to a blind friendly mode. That's just for systems and what they contain I take it? More a navigation aid than anything else? If so, I might have an easier time making a homebrew setting, lol. Thanks! I actually did an exper...

Re: Vargr Corsair Bases
Maybe they don't. Think of the maps in the products as being for the GM, not necessarily what is available to the characters in-game. The pirate bases maybe entirely unmarked, no one but the pirates themselves knowing their location. Maybe them do exist in Imperial military charts (who can't do any...

Re: The Fall of Tinath - Now Available Separetely!
Would the current set of alien races be relevant? You can, or course, do anything you like in your gaming sessions. For consistency with the published Traveller setting: unlikely. No explanation is given in the book for how humans ended up that far away from Charted Space, long enough ago to have s...

Re: Vangaurd Reaches
The Vanguard Reaches were first described in "Vanguard Reaches" by Chuck Kallenbach II, published by Paranoia Press (along with The Beyond by Donald P. Rapp). These are available from Far Future Entertainment (a.k.a. Marc Miller) in PDF form either from DriveThruRPG or FFE on CD-ROM on the Classic T...

They both come from the same wikitravellerrpg, so why do you say one is legit and the other is not? The wiki — which is a work in progress — does not wholly reflect Marc Miller's vision of the OTU, which is his playground. Although he has welcomed other authors to build on it — and often with visio...

Re: Online resources for traveller
I love the Traveller Map, but can someone explain why it appears that many worlds are marked as Amber zones - e.g. in Albadawi sector there are many worlds marked as Amber zones, but in the Solomani Rim book only something like two worlds are marked as Amber zones in the UWP profiles? Is this map a...
