Re: Melee (Martial Art) skill mentioned in Book 1 Mercenary

Thanks everyone for such a quick response. I really enjoyed reading abou the detailed martial art list in the link provided; however, I will see what my players want, and if they want something so detailed.

Thanks again....

cheers!!!

Melee (Martial Art) skill mentioned in Book 1 Mercenary

Folks,
I just purchased Book 1 Mercenary, and I noticed in the Commando Career it mentioned the Melee (Martial Art) skill; however, I do not see anything that describes the “Martial Art” part. Do I treat this as Melee (unarmed) or is there another supplement that details ‘Martial Art’?

Thanks.

Re: SnapShot rules with Mongoose Traveller

Damage is the key. You use Mongoose for its allocation . Otherwise use all SNAPSHOT rules and no MgT rules when moving and fighting. For the record Azhanti High Lightning was superior to Snapshot being a refined version of S-shot. Thanks Easterner for telling me about this supplement; however, I ha...

Re: SnapShot rules with Mongoose Traveller

There isn't really anything to convert. Use stats and maps from Snapshot for combat/movement. Character damage is not different in the two systems. So a PC take 9 points of damage in Snapshot, resolve as 9pts using MgT hit allocation choice your group prefers. Hi Easterner: That is what we thought;...

SnapShot rules with Mongoose Traveller

Folks:
It has been sometime since I posted and our game has really taken off; however, one of the members in my game group found a copy of SnapShot, and the Action Point system looks interesting.

Has anyone converted or modified SnapShot to use with Mongoose's version?

Thanks.

Re: classic Traveller dice rolls

I want to start by thanking everyone who has contributed and participated in this thread. Everyone has offered insight and valued information and details to me. As one individual pointed out – I am coming from AD&D 1/2E with many years playing; however, as I break into “classic” Traveller I learned ...

Re: classic Traveller dice rolls

Hey...the system developed the opposite of the bonus/pen. The number is added or subtracted from 8+, which is pretty cool.

Does this play well?

Thanks so much.

classic Traveller dice rolls

I understand that this is for Mongoose's version; however, I just got a copy of Classic Traveller and some Traveller Journals, yet I am nto understanding how the difficulty target is calculated. For example: Mongoose's version has generic predefined, but I don't see that in the Classic Version. How ...

Re: Doctor Who?

I would handle Dr. Who as a NPC, which leads the party around on crazy adventures, so his term and level is really not important. In addition, the character can be used as a wild card to get the party out of sticky places of trouble.

We have to come up with stats and rules for his trusty friend the Sonic Screwdriver. In addition to the +4 Intelligence Jelly Baby candy.

Re: Doctor Who?

My group is in the process of converting the old FASA Doctor Who to Traveller rule set. It is slow going because we are trying to keep the feel and look of the old 60-80’s genre. So you might want to look into the older FASA system or use an ad-hoc system. Over the weekend I watched Day of the Dalek...

Re: Stats for Dinosaurs

Thanks everyone for the support, suggestions and Ideas. I am currently working a storyline, which has one or both options. (a) An evil mega-corp has created super soldiers from dinosaur DNA, and has genetically enhanced the creatures to be the corp's shocktroopers. Or (b), Dinosaurs were original al...

Stats for Dinosaurs

Folks, I am still new to the system, and still do not have a great grasp on eye-balling stats for my NPC and characters. I am looking for stats on Dinosaurs. Has anyone pre generated dinosaurs? Due to their mass I was going to use a customized vehicle hit-chart table for damage, yet I am having diff...

Re: Slow then FTL travel speeds

Thanks for the link, but how do I know my ship's max. G- Acceleration? Does the ‘#-G’ category corresponds to the Jump Drive rating of the ship? No, for sublightspeed travel use the Manoeuvre Drive rating (M-Drive), not the Jump Drive. The M-Drive rating is in G's of acceleration. Oh...ok I got you...
