Re: K'Kree

Some very interesting ideas here. I'd love to see a quality K'Kree supplement too. Delving in to the evolution and motives for more important than if they have shotguns or not. Is there a realistic hope of a book in the next 3 years?

Re: What happened to Zero-G?

Make the checks easier for those who grew up or have a low G background. What a G bound player may find awkward (8+) is routine (6+) or less for trained. Thus better than having the skill.

Re: Inspiration

Ha ha I bought that series for inspiration for a pulp champaign. And yes it would be fun as Traveller. Film 'outland' with sean connery is good. Blakes 7 is good for dystopia. In fact most British scifi seems good for dystopia :D

Re: Simple rules clarification

In that situation I may go for maybe streetwise (the player is the sort to keep an eye on things like that) .

Re: Vehicle Handbook - Snow Mobile

Just give a - modifier on wheeled vehicle skill for those unfamiliar with them, after a while they will adapt.

Always been a gap in traveller. I usually vary the required roll dependant on situation. Sometimes RECCE (RECON), SURVIVAL, TACTICS, INVESTIGATE,INT etc.

Re: Rapid Fire

Could try the two weapon rule as previously suggested, with str modifier added to each shot. So weak characters with -1 modifier will be adding -3 and stronger -1. Gives an effect of recoil after the first 'braced' shots. If this is done as compound modifier it gets flippin dangerous to be around an...

Re: Core Rules - Melee Combat

A competent swordsman can also skewer you from 3 metres, even with a relatively heavy blade. So 2 meters sounds good to me. At 2m you raise weapon/pull trigger, I slash or lunge. Who ever misses is toast. On the whole the firearm will do more damage, but still dangerous for all. And 2m is pretty clo...

Re: Rapid Fire

I have a feeling that the whole recoil rules bit was not used by the majority of players. For what ever reason, either convenience, forgotten or overall ease. I know our group didn't use it. I tried, but found it slowed the game and for us didn't work. Not to say I disagreed with the concept, just t...

Re: Referee's Briefing 6: Garden Worlds

Few animals can be scary to humans when we have super death weapons and nature defing armour. To a city dweller going about there day to day life on the way to the shops for loaf and a pack of fags just one of them would be a trouser filling moment!

Re: The Vehicle Handbook is Here!

Ok, initial response to a 10 min look of the PDF is, FUN!

Not had a chance to chew the stuff, but a lot of this looks like it will get use in our group. Lots of nice non-military stuff for those of us who have gun-light games.

Re: Is it a large enough force?

That's pretty much the population of Yemen, which has the misfortune of being at war right now. With a police force of 2.4 million and the rest of the armed forces being nearly a million that would be more than 1 in 10 is in uniform! Removing the children/old and those unable/unwilling/incapable of ...
