Re: A Guide to the Third Imperium?
Dunia (an old member of this board) had an idea a couple of years ago where she suggested a introduction/Travel through the Charted Space book, and I think Matt was possitive to the idea. If I dont remember wrong. I also had such an idea a few years back, but I believe that Dunia's idea was better.

Re: Solomani Confederation (Military)
3. You could argue that like after the discovery of the New World, all the most ambitious, the most desperate and innovative of the Terrans migrated to the space now occupied by the Imperium, leaving behind the dregs of humanity, but the Europeans may be less inclined to share that view. Where did ...

Alien Books
I just purchased Alien Book 4: Zhodani and it was a real pleasure to look at, i have not read everything, but this far it is amazLing (with a capital L :D ). A big cheer to the author and I hope to see more of these books published in the near future. For those who have bought the other Alien books,...

Re: Darrians Book Feedback and Question
As to what reminded me of the Swedes, well it's cliches I know but I worked with and in Sweden and I'd say: Meritocratic Egalitarian Non sexist Value consensus over conflict and one from the old Norse days Exile as a form of social censure.. which beautifully creates a dissenting underclass for GMs...

Re: Max. skill level and terms
As a GM, I also award each player 1 experience point at the end of each game, to spend how they want. They use their experience points to buy skills and even increase their statistics based on the point-buy system in the core books. I also award Xp but I use the Xp as a reduction in time when they ...

[Third Imperium] House Rules: In-Game Skill Improvement
I have toyed with an idea how to improve skills in a more logical way. The reason for this is that the time it takes increases so fast (if I have understood the rules in the correct way). For example: My fictional Character Adrina is a 4 term with Int 12 & Edu 9 and gets the following skills: Before...

Re: Max. skill level and terms
I usually say to my players that they can create whatever characetr they want within certain guidelines and among a list of races I have written down. They can be how old they wish, but I do not let them use any anagethics while they create their character, its for ingame play only. So if someone wi...

Re: Favourite Sectors?
Third Imperium style: Jewel, Regina, Lanth & Vilis subsectors of Spinward Marshes. This is where I place all of my campaigns. (At least at the beginning, I usually let my players move as they want after that) My first campaign I did play and not GM was based when the Earthlings had just discovered t...

Re: Darrians Book Feedback and Question
But yes, this was the best book I have ever seen about the Darrians, and I especially love all the small mysteries that you added in there in the "Darrian Worlds" chapter.
Not too much ancients, which I first feared when I saw the book and just enough of them when you read the books.

Re: Darrians Book Feedback and Question
I have to say you have done a great job. Nuanced, weaving between the different versions, building a very compelling society and homo species that slots neatly into the Vulcan place in my SF archetypes, with a subtle mixing of elfs and (and tell me if I am wrong) more than a hint of Swedes in there...

is this a reprint of the one that missed a few chapters (I thought I read something about that, or I might just have been having a nightmare) or is it a complete one?msprange wrote:Secrets due about within the next few days!

Re: Deckplans to adventure type ships.
One problem with printed deckplans now is the sheer variety. Aside from the core book's selection, which ones do you do with any hope of profit? maybe some from Merchants & Traders, like the Safari Ship, Wild Trader, typical player owned and controlled ships 100-600 dton ships in the various books.

Re: [Third Imperium] Droyne and their stats
If I remember correctly: Caste is just which caste the droyne belongs to. So no "Caste 12 Technician". Droyne don't have "Education" per se. Each caste knows its business as well as anyone else in that caste, and knows very little outside of that, aside from Droyne cultural memes. In the main book,...

[Third Imperium] Droyne and their stats
Another thing that has me confused of this game, ever since CT-Era is the Droyne stats: Strength, Dexterity, Endurance, Intelligence, Sense and Caste The first four is totally understandable, but I never understood why they do not have Education and why they exchange that for Sense, when really Sens...

Re: Deckplans to adventure type ships.
I would prefer bigger deckplans. Where you actually can read what the little box with the explanations mean. My adventurers started out with a Safari Ship and when I got the book with it, the deckplan was less than halfa page big and it was hard to see everything on it.

Re: Second Edition - Comments Wanted!
Thile: I think that they have some duplicates in there, under different headings too, as I recall. I think that, also, rather than having weights, sizes and prices for everything in their descriptions, having them in a table, much like the weapons, would be a great help - especially if permission w...

Deckplans to adventure type ships.
If possible, could Mongoose please publish better/bigger deckplans for the typical traveller-type ships (Scouts, Safari Ships, Free/far Trader etc) The ones in the books are so small that you can hardly use them and if one try to scan them and make the images bigger for the players to use, they beco...

Re: Second Edition - Comments Wanted!
I have come across earlier as a supporter against making a second edition of anything earlier in this thread, that I admit, as I rather see new and exciting books than a 2nd edition version of already published books. But, when I am wrong, I like to say that I am wrong. I just got the CSC equipment ...
