Re: Conan 3E

I had d20 Conan for a few years and did not think that it worked very well. Aside from the fact that the combat was quite tactical (like 3e D&D) and therefore need figures to play it properly, none of the maps in any of the supporting books or scenarios had scales on them. The whole d20 level thing ...

Have any of you seen this? Looks worth a punt. They need the money for an English translation.

Re: So what did you think of Dredd?

It got me more than a little nostalgic for some Dredd Roleplay (I used to have the original GW version back in the 80's) - what's the traveller version like? Do I need to get miniatures to play it? is it worth a punt? You don't need miniatures. You do need the Traveller basic rulebook. Thanks for t...

Re: So what did you think of Dredd?

I watched Dredd on DVD last night and I have to say I vastly preferred it to the Stallone effort. Sure, the Lawmasters and uniform in the Stallone version were closer to the comic series - as were the other vehicles and to general look of MC1. I'm guessing the Dredd budget was a lot lower and (apart...

Re: A Question about roleplaying and viewpoints

"You wake up at the controls of a ship's boat thats heading down towards a planet and you have no idea what you're doing here and have trouble remembering anything at all even your name, what do you do?" I see nothing in the statement that the players' characters have forgotten anything but short t...

Okay, I kinda thought it wouldn't be that common. I can go with that.

Re: common knowledge

So, can I infer from the lack of replies that both 'The Ancients' and Vargr being uplifted are common knowledge with in the Imperium?

common knowledge

Hi, I was thinking about what people in the traveller universe might know as 'common knowledge' - given the wide range of planetary tech levels and (possible) degree of isolation from the rest of the Imperium. Would most people be aware of 'The Ancients' or know that the Vagr were up-lifted foe exam...

Third Imperium Artwork

Hi, I've picked up a few of the Third Imperium products in the last couple of weeks and am really impressed with the artwork - the covers especially. The covers really capture the feel of the game universe. I'd love to see an art anthology pdf by the artist of these works. Do they have a website tha...

Except I forgot that in third Imperium Traveller they are genetic modifications of Terrestrial animals.

It's been a long day.

Re: Drawing Female Vargr

Aren't we all missing a basic point here - Vargr and Aslan are not genetic modifications of Terrestrial mammals - they're alien. They have an alien morphology and any similarities in body shape and posture could be explained by some of the reasons modern humans evolved to look like they do. An uprig...

Re: Starship genrator... of sorts

I think its quite a good idea and kind of fits into the germ of an idea I had... I wanted to build a BIG ship something like a generation - cold sleep - star ship.. but not draw all of it, just bits... perhaps have random bits... but split it into sections, so in the engineering section you'd have ...

Re: Combat

Hi and thanks for answering my questions. The amount of stuff that has been written for Spinward is my main reason for wanting to use it. I don't get a lot of time for game prep and being able to pull something out of a book and run with it is just too useful. I'm glad the combat doesn't require fig...

Combat

Hi, I'm thinking of investing in MG Traveller and have a few questions. I used to play Classic Traveller back in the 1980's so I'm quite familiar with the background etc. What I'd like to know is things like: Has the hexadecimal bit been dropped? How 'tactical' is combat - do you need miniatures or ...
