Re: Vanguard - The Kickstarter is Live!
And now its cancelled. Not good. How about a basic set with cardboard counters instead of minis and sell the minis separately? I don't see that working. You don't make a BMW appealing by replacing its engine with one from a Yugo. The appeal of the game is the miniatures. And miniatures are too expe...

Re: Vanguard - A Traveller Miniatures Game
Probably a sensible decision to cancel this alright. For my part I would be very interested in a release of the rules and boards, as pdfs or in print, and with illustrated counters instead of miniatures. I realise people are fixated on plastic miniatures these days but I find counters work just as w...

Re: Vanguard - A Traveller Miniatures Game
I'm a little surprised that the Traveller branding is not more prominent in the campaign material. In fact its hardly there at all - I didn't realise it at first. Do you not think this would increase its appeal?

Re: Vanguard - The Kickstarter is Live!
We looked at exactly that size, but during playtesting we found the larger boards just worked better. As for warping, we are using very thick cardstock. If you have seen GW style boards, you will know what we are going for. Ok sounds good. Can I also suggest then, as a stretch goal or add-on, a set...

Re: Vanguard - The Kickstarter is Live!
Looks nice, considering this. But.. can I strongly suggest not making all the gameboards 11.7 x 16.5 inches, and instead going for a modular 11.7 x 8.3 system - or at least a combination of the two? For two main reasons: 1. The large boards will be very likely to warp - just like the Sedition Wars b...

Re: Why no career books?
I have quite a few of the 1e career books. What would be the main obstacles in simply using the tables there for character creation? Is it the skills?

Re: New Zozer Games SF setting - Hostile - Gritty, near'ish future
I agree with torus. Cepheus Engine is a wonderful standalone game that draws heavily from the rules in 1st edition Mongoose Traveller. As such it is compatible with that and many versions of Traveller. It is in fact far more compatible and interchangeable with those versions than some other (fully ...

I disagree; if CE products are Trav-compatible then that enriches the ecosystem for Mongoose players as well.ShawnDriscoll wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2018 1:59 pmIf you need CE to play Hostile, then why is Hostile being posted on a Traveller forum? CE is a different game, and is not Traveller. In fact, it's anti-Traveller. And anti-Mongoose.

Re: New Zozer Games SF setting - Hostile - Gritty, near'ish future
I'll attempt to give a relevant answer. Well both CE and Traveller 2e are based on the Traveller SRD, so they are not hugely dissimilar. Hostile does contain full ship design rules, unlike 2E. They don't use power use in the design system and have the hull and structure points for damage. CE does n...

Is this usable with Mongoose Traveller 2e? I don't know how much Cepheus engine differs.

Rulebook reprint
Been away for quite a while but thinking of picking up the 2e rules. Sorry if I missed an announcement; I guess since the status of the 2e core rulebook is 'Pre-order', and is currently out of stock most places, this means it is being reprinted? Is it a straight reprint or will there be errata/corre...

Personally I'm not interested in paying another penny for any product which supports the activities of copyright leeches like Paradox, Tolkien Enterprises and their ilk.

Right - but it is still mostly about perving, yes? Don't shatter my illusions.alex_greene wrote:Insufficient reason. Cosplay is universal these days. Just ask Fahr Sindram: she is German, and her speciality is cosplaying a Norse god.Solomani666 wrote:No!

Re: Campaign settigns for a new player
I agree that for experienced players, Legend + Monsters of Legend provides pretty much everything you need to handle most fantasy settings, if they are prepared to put in some work. However I do think Monsters is pretty bare bones. There could be more material on non-human adventurers; as it stands ...

Re: Campaign settigns for a new player
It would be great if there was a guide to running traditional high fantasy settings with Legend. You know, elves and dwarves and orcs and all that stuff. Wouldn't have to be too long, and could be quite generic.

Re: Love the Legend Covers
Full agreement here - the existing art does nothing for me. I think as well as swords & sorcery, another direction would be early medieval/dark ages. Legend works well for that.
