Re: Keeping Lore Mundane (But Still Useful)
I agree actually with your points there Fonso, but I will just point out we are talking about "Keeping Lore Mundane (But Still Useful) here...that is to say an Advanced skill that a player has taken. So I ask you, would a player *NEED* to take an advanced skill just to ride a Horse? Or would that s...

Re: Keeping Lore Mundane (But Still Useful)
I understand the difference between the skills. Simply, for general caring of a horse I don't think you need another skill excepto Riding, as to care your weapons don't need a Craft (weaponsmither). To know specific info, like horse-diseases or that the andalusian horser are smaller and faster than ...

Re: Keeping Lore Mundane (But Still Useful)
I don't say that learning the craft he can do anything related to the associated lore (or vice versa). Only that the character don't need a theorical skill to know something that he already can do with his Craft skill. If he knows how to do a strange perfume (or work the metal), it's much more likel...

Re: Keeping Lore Mundane (But Still Useful)
Actually, I think they are the same skill, but with different base value. When you learn the skill from a teorical perspective, take the Lore. And when you develop the skill at the hard way, working on it, take the Craft. For everything else, use the difficult modifiers. Do you learned your alchemic...

Re: Priestly Sorcerers
You could use the sorcery rules, changing the specific Grimoire skill for a Pact skill. Any specific capability the god can "give" to his followers could be manage through heroic abilities or POW sacrifices, using the Elric rules. For example; Thot-Amon has a Pact (Set) skill that let him cast his d...

Re: Magic Points in the Legend Core Rulebook
Can I ask something here about Divine Magic 'points' that's been bugging me? Here goes: Why is it so prohibitively difficult for starting Divine users to regain spells, and can something be done to mitigate? I've let the initiate in my group get +40% to his roll as long as he's in good standing wit...

Re: Background Culture
Perhaps a silly question but one of my human races in my homebrew setting is a fallen civilization, once great and powerful, now analogous to Earth's Inuit people. These folk follow the seals and "their" herds of migratory elk. So the question is, would Primitive or Nomad be the better choice of Cu...

Re: Spirit combat
I think that problem is due to the different mechanics. I killed several characters accidentally in this way. MP vs MP offered a more balanced combat for the unskilled character. Other factors, such as the inability to escape spiritual combat without Binding, increase its letality. My advise is use ...

Re: Avoiding Fantasy Pitfall
I would like some advice from fellow GMs regarding how to avoid one of the classic pitfalls when GMing. In a classic fantasy setting (I am using the World of Greyhawk) what tactics do you use to prevent all the players from playing elves? With their better attributes it seems a natural choice ... N...

Do you have any intentions of making an "Ancient Word" supplement for Legend?
It has a very good look at Savage Worlds.

Re: Snow White and the Huntsman Legend Style!
It remembers me "The lesser evil", one short story included in "The Last Wish", the first book of Geralt of Rivia from Andrzej Sapkowski.
Snow White is a princess eager of revenge against the wizard who ruined its life.
A tragic story, like all of Geralt.

Re: New Professions,skills and Backgrounds
If the skill doesn't track that difference, then what game mechanic would cover that issue? I think that cultural background defines that, not skill level. A Spaniard crafter in 1550 could make a wooden wheel for a cart. A Mayan artisan don't knew how to do that. If/when someone teach him, then he ...

Hi came upon this post and thought that's good I am running a 14th Century campaign and have just worked this out what do you think? A Mage-warrior that channels magic through swords for instance. Should I have the players create a sorcerer with high martial arts skills and armor or a new occupation is required? I don't know if this may help you. In our Arkania adaptation, elves have a group of warrior that combine the art of th...

Re: New with Legend
So I finished Monsters of Legend (still going through the other books due to recent workload) No homebrewing rules for making your own races(I guess one could fiddle with the examples given) How do people differentiate sub-races for instance? I would presume by introducing other traits? The standar...

Re: Enchanting Armour Pieces
I noticed, in Arms of Legend (p. 50), that armour pieces are available - greaves, trews, coats, cowls, pieces like that. These articles of clothing, armour pieces, whatever you call them, cover one or more Hit Locations at a time. A coat covers the chest, arms and abdomen; pants cover both legs and...

Re: Recurring Trait
Recurring is a Spirit Trait.
When you reduce the spirit to 0 PM in spiritual combat, don't die, merely is disiped. The spirit "resurrects" after X days.
I don't remember now where was described, but I'll bet on the Legend's Spirit Magic enhacement or MRQII's spirit rules in the corebook.

Re: Trait Name Suggestion
"Accuracy" may be?
The name will depend heavily on how it causes that extra damage. ¿Poison? ¿Very precise strikes? ¿Bleeding? ¿Soul tapping?
Can you tell us something about the creature and its attacks?
