Re: NA - Looking for dimensions of a Decados Hyram Light Car

I paired the Hyrams (as mercenary light cruisers) with some Decados destroyers, that I removed part of the engines off of to make them into destroyers. http://i389.photobucket.com/albums/oo339/billclodude/DSCN6577_zps9ab374ad.jpg http://i389.photobucket.com/albums/oo339/billclodude/DSCN6578_zps2f5e9...

Re: NA - Looking for dimensions of a Decados Hyram Light Car

I ended up adding some top stabilizer assemblies from another miniature to create a more nasty looking pirate ship:

Re: NA - Looking for dimensions of a Decados Hyram Light Car

Rick.

I did some quick measuring, and those dimension are a close match for an ESU Light Cruiser, so I guess I can call the Hyrams maximum massed Light Cruisers after all. Many thanks. :D

Re: NA - Looking for dimensions of a Decados Hyram Light Car

What does the mercenary heavy cruiser look like? Is it for the Fading Suns universe or for some other game? If it's Fading Suns, does it have to be Decados? No, I've been re-purposing various ships into mercenary ships for Full Thrust. I had 4 Missionary Frigates (Terran Alliance) from Firestorm Ar...

Re: NA - Looking for dimensions of a Decados Hyram Light Car

The Hyram probably won't be a good choice then. Back to the drawing board. :(

Thanks. I may have future questions though if I find something else suitable.

Re: NA - Looking for dimensions of a Decados Hyram Light Car

In the absence of actual measurements, you can look at Noble Knight's picture: http://www.nobleknight.com/imagepage.asp?image=MGP3576.jpg They're on standard large Mongoose bases. You can get some idea of the Hyram's size from that. They're also out of stock, so if you don't already have a Hyram, w...

NA - Looking for dimensions of a Decados Hyram Light Carrier

Hi.

I'm considering using a Decados Hyram Light Carrier for another game, and wanted to know if anyone can measure one for me. I'm interested in length and width (mm or inches is fine). Can anyone help me?

Thank you.

Re: ADB, Inc. Announces New Prices for Starline 2500 Miniatu

Go to their online store, some of these mini's are really well priced. Light Cruisers $12, Heavy Cruisers $13-14... Frigates and destroyers $6-8. 8) Yup - then add on £15 per order for postage to the UK and the price goes up. Sorry - but I still see ADB being the only place to get the minis as a bi...

Re: [ACTASF] Starline 2500 Orion Dreadnought

I check in once in a while, but by and large, have moved onto other games. Even when ACTA:SF is re-launched, it will be quite a while before I bother playing it again, now that I am into Full Thrust. But I have far too many minis to never come back. But I doubt that I will be buying any more minis. ...

Re: Your preferred size for a Star Base miniature?

I was curious how a 1/2 scale and 1/4 scale base would look alongside a Fed CA, so I scrounged up some household items and took some pictures. 14" Base (1/2 scale), using 9" foam plates, and 2 1/2" foam balls (too large but close): http://i389.photobucket.com/albums/oo339/billclodude/DSCN44521280x96...

Re: Your preferred size for a Star Base miniature?

Interesting. Planets are way out of scale too, obviously. :D I can see your point though, but a 2.8" base doesn't have the visual appeal of a larger one. But yes, putting a 6"+ base next to a planet is going to look weird, unless you make the planet much larger than the base. Which will do weird thi...

Re: Your preferred size for a Star Base miniature?

Well, if you look at the pictures (I don't recall if there's any real closeups) you can see for yourself. I'll tell you that what you see there is about 5 min of prep, and about 10 min of attaching the few pieces that are separate, followed immediately by painting. In a nutshell...Ravenstar makes b...

Re: Your preferred size for a Star Base miniature?

I went with 7" because I think that's about the size of the one I have by Ravenstar studios. It's also the same size as the BATS we used in this battle report. http://www.goingaming.blogspot.com/2013/05/the-assault-on-bats-13.html The only difference is that the Starbase version has a ring linking ...

Re: Looking for some more ball and socket mounts for the min

I don't mind if the ships are not perfectly aligned, and yes I tell the players that we go with the base, not the ship. It's just a matter of aesthetics, really.

Re: Looking for some more ball and socket mounts for the min

I have tried the Corsec bases for my civilian ships. They work fine, until you add something to mark the centerline, whether that be my firing arc stickers, or just a painted on line. What happens is that every stem's threads are different in that if you just pick up a random base and stem and attac...

Looking for some more ball and socket mounts for the minis.

I am putting out a call for those who might have unused 50mm/2" ball and socket bases that I might be able to purchase from you. I have an adequate supply for now, but more on hand would be nice.

Thanks

***edit, someone hooked me up with a bunch*** so I've got enough for quite a while now. :D

Bob,

I think it was mainly around here, several months ago. I don't think it was on the SFU BBS, though feel free to bring it up there if you want.
