High Guard: Typical equipment within includes protective clothing, vacc suits, defensive weapons such as shotguns or pistols, ammunition, compasses and survival aids, and portable shelters. The contents of the locker are defined by the referee only when needed but always contains vacc suits and othe...

My edition is seeing a lot of use and has reached the very worn and tattered stage. Time for a rebirth.

11,000 worlds, trillions of citizens. I'd say 'typical' will be a difficult concept.

Re: Starport vs spaceport...

The High Guard station design rules give parameters as to what is needed at minimum for each port type to be classified as a starport. A starport is meant to efficiently centralize the most important interplanetary and interstellar traffic in one place. Most spaceports routinely don't (and shouldn't...

I picture males on the board staring like deer in the headlights saying "Okay...." a lot when company females routinely update what's going on and keep making money. True clueless but mandatory figureheads.

Re: Orbit to Surface with grav equipment

One Traveller source listed lifters which are used in vehicles and grav belts are only capable of reaching low orbit. Grav belts could be a problem with their limited endurance, 4 hours at TL 12 and 12 hours at TL 15. This is probably why only maneuver equipped ships can make regular trips between g...

Re: Radiation remediation

Nuclear dampers are well known in many Traveller universes. That means someone nuking a planet can decide what the bombing is meant to accomplish. Not all battles and wars are about scorched Earth. This is one big reason the Imperium uses a heavy hand when it comes to nukes. IF nukes are used, the d...

Re: What do they mean ‘Holographic Hull’ ?

That's why I rebuilt the Corsair with Stealth and Emission Absorption Grid to perform a similar tactic to get as close to prey as possible before pouncing.

Re: Ship serial numbers

I'm assuming the serial number is part of the transponder. There may be places that had the ship's name and SIN (ship identification number) painted on the hull.

"Annual Income $15,070"

Geez, that's a few thousand less than what my job pays now while prices for everything are ten times higher.

Personally, the easiest calculation is a credit is whatever your country's standard value unit is, a dollar, a euro or a yen etc..

Re: Robotic ships

For those that haven't noticed. High Guard 2e page 64, Virtual Crew states: Virtual Crew can replace up to five pilots, gunners or sensor operators on board a ship, potentially allowing the ship to act completely autonomously if all crew can be replaced in this way. Indeed, ships can be designed wit...

Every world with at least one flying city reevaluates when the first flying city plummets killing. most inhabitants. There is nothing so immensely fragile.

Missile turrets don't use gunner skill. Even the steward can man the station when not keeping the panicked passengers under control.

Hmm. Need a TL 15 reliable source that is either illegal or heavily controlled that must be taken once a month (or else...) at Cr.20,000 a month. Long life is for the idle super rich. Most people tend to coast rather than actively and continuously better themselves learning new skills in later years...
