Re: The loss of Dredd License - what does it mean?

I have a nearly complete, Council of Judges Kickstarter pledge that I'm looking to sell, since no one else around here plays. I think I'm missing one set of the minis that never arrived, but there were a couple of add-ons included that more than balance the deal. If you (or anyone else) are interest...

ACTASF - Book 2

It's time.

The preliminary stats for the ships (or at least, the candidate ships)for Book Two are complete and ready to review.

I'd like to begin review and play testing after the first of the year.

If you're interested in participating, email me at tony (dot) l (dot) thomas at comcast (dot) net

If you want in on the Kickstarter deal, let me know.

I'm willing to sell my entire Council of judges set, plus a few extras for the original Council of Judges price.

[ACTASF] Core Rulebook Scenarios

It's coming down to the wire on the release of ACTASF 1.2, and I need a bit of help. I recall there were a few concerns raised about one or two of the scenarios in the core rulebook, but I can not seem to remember the specific scenarios or the specific issues. If anyone has had (or can recall mentio...

Re: ACTA Starfleet AAR: Klingons vs Feds 2000 pts

Actually, there are 6 different groups play testing. Alaska, Missouri, Atlanta, Tennessee, UK, Oklahoma. I'm in the process of re-drafting the entire set to include all changes / suggestions made to date. Once the beta set is ready - I will be looking for another group or two to play and report. And...

Re: News on A Call to Arms: Star Fleet!

Well, most of the development discussions do take place on the BBS, as that's the main company site and that's where SVC hangs out. But if you happen to glance at my post count on the Fed Comm forum - you'll see that I'm more than just a little active there. I've probably been remiss about posting A...

Re: Question in Regards to Planetary/Static Defenses

There are no rules as yet, but since they have recently been added to Federation COmmander (the source material for ACTASF), I'd expect to see them in ACTASF sooner or later.

Re: News on A Call to Arms: Star Fleet!

ADB has three, large format, black and white, print-on-demand printers and a two book binder machines in house. So black and white softcover is certainly cheaper. But if you like to have them ring bound, spiral bound, coil bound, or added to a 3-ring binder - you'll love ADBs choices. When you order...

While I've run several demos in the preferred Mongoose format (2 Fed cruisers versus 2 Klingon cruisers)... on a 2' x 2' map... with no special actions... and over in 30 minutes... [and believe it or not, you can crank a lot of people through like this, and the format does work...] I much prefer to ...

Re: Best way to start?

It's probably closer to 55,000 points now.
There's just over 100 Klingons...
90 some odd Federation...
60+ Romulans
40+ Kzinti
30+ Gorn
16 Orions
11 Small frieghters, 5 Large Freighters, 6 APTs

And 1500+ of the Starline 2400 minis.

And they are all WSIWYG.
No proxies allowed!!!

Iain is correct: You declare the HET special action before moving... Move to the point where the HET is to be executed... Roll the CQC... Success = make turn and continue moving... Failure = take Impulse Critical Hits... And although the rules do not spell it out as such, we end the movement there o...

Re: Is ACTA SF a good analog for SFB or FC?

Late to the party, but I have to throw my two cents worth in here. After having played several hundred... yes, I said several hundred... games, I feel that the system [for the most part] works as intended. As pointed out by Gary - the game is not a "re-creation" of either SFB or Fed Comm, but is an ...
