Re: Deneb Sector '84
The only notes that I have on the GW sectors is in a set of footnotes from the Snowbird Mystery PDF (now offline) by Andy Slack. It's now offline, but the PDF states that the sector name was the Riftspan Reach and consisted of a cluster of stars within a rift.

Re: Deneb Sector '84
My fault; it was a small press publication that probably only had wide distribution in the UK. The first part was published in the fanzine 'Quasits and Quasars' (Q&Q) #10 edited by Dave Hulks and Neil Hopkins. This was the final issue of Q&Q, so their version was compiled and given Marc's blessing, ...

Deneb Sector '84
I've just picked up a copy of Deneb Sector and kudos to Rob Eaglestone for describing this sector, especially the political machinations. However, I'd like to ask if anyone remembers the version published by Dave Hulks et al in 84/85. This was before I started playing Traveller, being preoccuppied w...

Re: Future Traveller - Testing the Waters
I read on another site (forgot where) that Traveller today is stuck in a rut in terms of era - we're puttering back in 1105. I really enjoyed Martin Dougherty's New Era 1248 sourcebooks and would like to see more depth given to the 4th-I, and possibly move the storyline to 1253. Another area for wou...

Re: Future Traveller - Testing the Waters
Please correct me if i am wrong, but the impression i got was that T5 is a separate product from anything in mongoose publishing Traveller line, so making it the 'red box' would seem to be a little irrelevant, at the very heart of T5 the skill rolls systems is very different, so t...

Re: Is the Traveller line "complete"?
And with the cost of T5 being a factor, then there is the risk of there being a fork between players of T5 and MgT. Hence the statement about the basic - advanced relationship, with MgT acting as an introduction to new players whilst maintaining a cohesive group around both versions. After all, woul...

Re: Future Traveller - Testing the Waters
I'm not too thrilled about the thought of a 2nd Ed Mgt Core rulebook, however, there is an opportunity for Mongoose to establish it as a red book introduction to Traveller against the (advanced) deeper systems in T5. Therefore, it must not only be backwards compatable with the existing MgT line, but...

Re: Is the Traveller line "complete"?
Nats is quite right to criticise the lack of animal speeds in the MgT core book, and the handling of movement is overall poor - there is only one base speed mentioned in the MgT book (6m/turn) with no consideration for injuries, encumberance, terrain, tactics etc. Which is not to say that a new syst...

Re: [Zozer Games] Free Supplement: Vacc Suit
Regarding contemporary space suit technology, have a look at http://mvl.mit.edu/EVA/biosuit/ which is also on display at the V&A until January - perhaps there'll be a surge of gamers visiting the V&A later this month/early December (Dragonmeet). There was also a documentary on Channel 4 ages ago; EQ...

Looking forward to reading this, as I saw Zozer's Outpost Mars a day or to ago and ordered the POD edition (which arrived this morning and, on first glance, lloks rather intriguing.). It'll be interesting to see how the technology will have moved on from Outpost's 2040 to the 2100 timeframe f...

Re: Avenger Ent. Spinward Salvage - Ship designs
Re the Telemon, the floor area looks about right for a 400 dton ship (less the cutter), assuming that both decks are 9m in diameter. So, having looked over the notes, I may have a go at doing an alternate design for the Telemon.
