You might want to have them use Insight or Evaluate to examine the item and deduce that it's a thing that releases a lock or door and that here is a piece missing.

I don't have the scenario but what about if the two parts of the item have an affinity for each other and keep guiding the two groups towards each other or the same goal. You can have the player characters getting strange dreams and premonitions and have odd things happen to 'guide' them in the righ...

Very few RPG's have ever done elves and dwarves from folklore rather than rip offs of D&D creatures and they stole all their ideas about elves and dwarves from the Professor's work. They get initiative same as everyone else. If that initiative rank has passed they don't get to enter until the appropriate point next round.

I don't know of anything that specifically allows minis on a gridded map with Legend. The full version of RQ6 has a specific section on using minis on a grid but that's about it.

Generally minis are used to indicate relative position if at all in most D100 games.

Rod will be including a version of the RQ6 rules as part of the book so there should be no referring to another volume like there has been in the past.

I thought that there was a Triffid in the BGB but that's not the case. I'd use the basic stats for my Semi-sentient Liana and change the acidic sap to a mild poison that has Agony or Unconscious as the Condition to simulate the effect of the whip. I think this is a little out of date as the last post was Janaury. CF is now going with RQ6 rather than Legend according to the author.
