Miéville /VanderMeer/Vancian Weirdness

Something new and different, avante garde and strange (in a good way) for Wayfarer . With no sign of Adamant Entertainment ever producing their promised 'Tales of New Crobuzon' game, I’m feeling a sore lack of the ‘new weird’ in my gaming; Something that channels the dieselpunk meets Cthulhu strange...

None of the above. Instead: Blakes 7 . Because how could "the Dirty Dozen in space" ever be a bad idea? Distinctive feel, distinctive darkness and moral ambiguity Because watching the TV show's ragtag band thrown together by chance, clashing aims and personalities, sometimes winning, often getting i...

Just out of curiosity, would you prefer unrelated scenarios, or would you rather have them linked - either as a series or by theme (e.g. adventures in the same city, or a particular theme like death, winter, toys of the gods, etc?)

Big thumbs up from me too to this idea. My one caveat with adventures/adventure anthologies is that I like them to have a little setting material/expanded rules included as well, for maximum longevity and reusability. So maybe a mix of sourcebook and adventures… for example a guide to Xanardwys and ...

Undoubtedly Matt and I will be discussing game support while S&P is paused. I would contact me so I am aware of you and let me know what you have in mind. Then I can see if this is something we might be looking for. Will do. I'm sure that like the Eternal Champion, the next incarnation of S&P will ...

Sad to hear that Signs and Portents is on hiatus – not least because I had a folder full of submission pitches for it ready to rock and roll. I know Mongoose have promised some support via the website (which is great news), so I was wondering if it’s worth getting in touch about things I was plannin...

Seconded. Well, in fact "sixthed" I think, but you know what I mean. Its probably an prejudice of mine that I associate Runequest with grittier, low fantasy (but still great) games... Mainly the fault of Havercake Lad's various Elric campaigns. Thieves World itself accomodates both the gritty and th...

At the risk of stating the obvious, Wayfarer will live or die by the support of its fans. These days, I think that internet resources (especially access to free online content) is a big part of that: Getting 'it' out there in the blogsphere, websites, and yes, wikis and system reference documents et...

I know, it's weird. Yet if I try to 'quote' myself, all the text is there. I guess this part of the forum just hates me… that or it’s all an evil plot by Servalan.

Some quote my first post and all will make sense, I promise.

I remember the setting of those games as very good. A different take on vampires while keeping the essential mythos and strong eastern European vibe. Enough variation in powers and races to make a good setting, plus a splash of cosmic horror (always unspeakably good) and mind-screwy time travel and ...

Traveller: Blakes 7

Okay... Since Mongoose were kind enough to give us a whole forum in which to accommodate my fanboy hopes and dreams (and because I'm slightly too busy/lazy to do all the work myself), I want to throw out my reasons why Blakes 7 would make a great setting book for Traveller. Link for the uninitiated:...

As one of the original players to run around like headless chickens in the original Find the Lady scenario in John’s campaign, I can heartily endorse his Machiavellian mind games! It worked great with non-Judge characters too: One gun and a lot of attitude between us :-)

My feeling is that the scene has changed it's target audience from adolescents to adults. At least every time I visit the local board game shop (they sell no RPGs, miniatures or video games) all the patrons are young adults and only handful of kids looking at MtG cards. I know what you mean. All th...
