SE Michigan Event?

Would anyone out there be at all interested in getting together for an event in south-east Michigan?

Anyone still playing (Great Lakes area)

Anyone still playing, particularly in the SE Michigan/ SW Ontario/ NW Ohio area? I wouldn't mind getting together a campaign.

Re: potentially dumb B5 ACTA question...beams hits on hull 3

Beams (and. for that matter, mini-beams) do not take account of the target ship's hull value. I agree with Da Boss. That system for rolling beam hits (and a couple of other options) became official when it was published in S&P, and subequently in P&P as well. So you can even use it if your friends ...

Re: Breaching Pods and ship-boarding

page 43 rules say: A boarding Action can be started in one of two ways – either the Launch Breaching Pods and Shuttles! Special Action or by moving one or more Breaching Pods into contact with the base of an enemy ship or space station (braving any Anti-Fighter defences on the way!) . however an ar...

Re: B5 ACTA 3-player campaign questions

Hi folks, we're starting a campaign with 3 players and are struggling to determine the proper series of events *what happens when" and so forth, thus looking for a bit of help. Players are A,B,C. Fleets are 5 war points each. We rolled for Initiative: A 'wins' initiative, B second, C third. We then...

Re: Selling B5 or Starship Troopers?

I'm assuming you only mean miniatures which were actually produced by Mongoose and not 3rd party ones (Fleet Action, etc.)?

Re: Agents of Gaming order

Figures I would place an order while he was away! Very glad to know, thank you for the information. Was starting to worry. always glad to help out a fellow b-5 gamer, with a lot of gamers giving up thier ships on ebay, i was starting to think there were only a few people left who played the game. J...

Re: ACtA B5 game pics

Good to see people still playing. I've got perhaps 300 ships (Dilgar, Vree, Minbari, and a bunch of mixed ships) but no one to play against. My usual gaming group was interested in playing for a while (I had a nice setup in my finished basement) but we haven't played in like 9 or 10 months and I fin...

Re: Campaign questions B5 ACTA

EA can just sit out there with their super long-range missiles and pound you to death. Never had much success with missiles tbh, although recently we've been playing EA v EA which rather negates all the good EA aspects, lots of interceptors, lots of anti-fighter etc etc. I took the missile cruiser ...

Re: Campaign questions B5 ACTA

we play Narn and EA, so its beams and beams and e-mines. -------- I dont see a space station as being that great either Mutton, my problem is the opposite: I fail to seee any point in it. The enemy can capture it, which they cant do with a ship. A ship can move. A ship can be elsewhere. etc etc. Th...

Re: Campaign questions B5 ACTA

The "big guns" are beams Tell that to a Drazi Warbird  4AD beam, this will on average get 4 hits. "Secondary" weapon is 12AD TL, this will on average get 9 hits against hull 4 or 7 hits against hull 5. Unless you're shooting a target with interceptors or hull 6, the non-beam is twice as po...

Re: Campaign questions B5 ACTA

Also, you can customise the station by adding your choice of modules - it's effectively a ship which you get to design yourself. Interceptors are more effective because you can decide how many dice to use against each attacking ship, which means using something with popguns to wear down interceptor...

Re: Campaign questions B5 ACTA

Well i never played the older system so i cant really prefer anything about them - i've never used them. I just cant see the point of them as they stand as described in P&P. In most scenarios they would be a BIG handicap, and having a War level station means that you will never really get to use it...

Re: Fighter losses on campaign

for non-carrier ships how does one replenish the lost fighters? Do i have to buy a wing and split them up to replenish the ships? Can i split up the fighters on a carrier and then let the carrier fighters replenish *naturally* (at no cost) via the natural replenishment of fighters onboard carriers?...

We house rule Admirals -- A regular "Admiral" costs a Battle point and an "Elite Captain" costs a Raid point and gives only one Admiral trait.

Re: Captured Ships in Campaign Games

I think we are going to play it with ships that are captured get captured and given to the opposition that captures them. seems a little bit daft not to be able to do anything with ships you ahve taken the effort to actually capture. We had tried this once. It really unbalanced things for the Gaim ...

Re: ACTA: Campaign of Terror

Ah yes, I'd forgotten that Raiders in Campaign of Terror are allowed to use everything they own. In that case you can indeed use the freighter as an init sink. It's not much use for anything else. Good luck ramming something with a lumbering ship that has a base speed of 4. (One of my ambitions in ...

Re: ACTA: Campaign of Terror

The rules about customisation contradict themselves on the same page. Under "Allied League Ships" it says that allied League ships only get one customisation; a few paragraphs later, under "Custom Ships", it says that all ships including allies get two customisations. This was raised before on the ...

Re: Captured Ships in Campaign Games

if I remember rightly you can actually get resource points for captured ships. but i may be wrong as been quite some time since our campaign in B5 Raiders in a normal campaign get RR points for a captured ship. Everyone else in a normal campaign only get the bonus VPs and XP for capturing (I think ...

Re: Special Orders...

Just a quick question since it's been a while since I played and it came up in a game the other day. When do special orders go away, is it at the end of the turn in the maintenance phase or when a ship/squadron is activated in the next turn? Cheers, Gary It's never come up for us but I'm assuming y...
