Re: The Great Rift Kickstarter is Live!

I'll drink 50 pounds of Scout Brew, or 50 pounds' worth of Scout Brew, or both. Whatever you want really.

If you pledge a ton of money I'll drink its weight in Scout Brew.

Re: Reach Adventure 4: Last Flight of the Amuar - on Drivethru

The author did not have a space hopper, and thus would have led a severely deprived childhood if a friend had not possessed two for some reason. These were mostly used for a game in which two space hopper armed combatants would stand on the (low) garden wall and try to knock one another off by swing...

Re: Marches Adventure 2: Mission to Mithril

It's somewhere between a reboot and a sequel. Based on ideas in the original but with a quite different storyline.

Re: Rapid Fire

I've already written the part of Traveller Companion that deals with this.

It's not finalised, but there is a framework in place.

That's kinda what I'm planning to do. Deserts worlds, water worlds, hostile worlds, rockballs, that sort of thing.

Re: The Traveller Release Schedule

At the time of writing I'm concentrating mainly on the Characters and Combat sections, though there is a certain amount of 'this causes that' requiring an addition elsewhere. Odd bits in the Characters section require an addition to Psionics, for example. I'm not sure when the manuscript will be del...

Re: High Guard: Deployment Shuttle

I have always assumed that there was some lag between a change in thrust and the compensation of the internal gravity field. Short, but noticable. Also, internal gravity creates, well, gravitational attraction towards the floor (or ceiling), it does not cancel inertia any more than real gravity does...

Re: Spinward Marches 1: The Bowman Arm

The T20 materials I wrote for QLI were first-rights, so I do own the copyright on all of my work.

That means they can be converted if it seems worth the time.

Re: Spinward Marches 1: The Bowman Arm

I have basically been told to Write All The Things. There will be more Trojan Reaches material, and more Spinward Marches, and more Infinite Horizons. And you want the Solomani Rim? That could happen. Also more ref's briefings. Just keep buying them, and I'll keep writing. MJD re-releases? Could hap...

Re: Referee's Briefing - New Series for Traveller!

I'll see what i can come up with.

I've known people whose socks had many of the traits of live animals - smell, independent movement and a tendency to try to eat passers-by.

Re: Referee's Briefing - New Series for Traveller!

I'm working on the third one now (actually I'm not; I'm drinking beer and playing World of Warships, but hey...)

Animal Encounters is on the list , as are further titles covering portside businesses and novelty sock designs.

One of those statements may not be true.

Re: Towards an Infinite Horizon

The Motherlode setting is only a small corner of the greater universe, of course. However, it is big enough to be a sandbox for the players and has natural constraints imposed by the difficulty of getting anywhere else without a high-jump ship. So it's a place where travellers can find their feet an...

Re: Towards an Infinite Horizon

Around 45,000 years ago, a race we now refer to as the Benefactors came to Earth. They were dying out, and sought someone to pass the torch of their knowledge to. They built a small colony on Earth, but then realised that the coming glaciation would eradicate all traces of them and perhaps even of u...

Re: Towards an Infinite Horizon

The variable nature of jump timings is an important part of the setting. It is connected to come other phenomena including areas where jump is more difficult or where jumps take an excessively long time. The discovery of jumpspace currents and trenches has implications for astronavigation which are ...

Re: Towards an Infinite Horizon

The Motherlode star system lies at the end of a Jump-3 chain of worlds jutting out into the emptiness of the Prospect Deep. Its three habitable worlds orbiting two stars represent a rare find, and this is perhaps why humans and aliens seem to be drawn to the system. Or perhaps there is some other re...

Re: Towards an Infinite Horizon

Infinite Horizons is set around 700 years from now. The prevailing technological level of most human states is 10-12, making Jump-3 the cutting edge of interstellar navigation. Humans are by far the most common intelligent species in what is (not surprisingly perhaps) known as Human Space, but starf...
