Re: 2300AD: French Arm Adventures - Now in Print!

Yep pretty much what Ian has said. I haven't seen Tools For Frontier Living in any games shops in person or online yet.

Is there a delay?

Re: New Traveller has Questions

Crunch -- Wow! Ships are complicated! I appreciate the realism (acceleration instead of speed, etc), but neither I nor my players are "gear-heads" and this is just too much detail for us. Is there a simplified ship system? Is this just the wrong game for us? Believe it or not, Mongoose's space comb...

Re: LEGEND Character Generator Software

One of the big problems for Herolab for me is that it only runs on Windows. I really like the "The One Ring" online character generator ( at http://azrapse.es/tor/sheet.html ). Which is just HTML5 I believe. Obviously a Legend character generator is a much larger prospect to write. But it isn't insu...

Re: Legend for just $1!

I've just downloaded it and taken a quick look. The good - it has bookmarks and it has layers (you can turn the graphics and the backgrounds off). The not so good - some of the art is in the graphics and some in the backgrounds layer. The page background is in the Master Layer. For example page 189 ...

Re: Grimiores and Spells

Actually, I'd much more prefer to just have Sorcery as one skill, and then have it your own grimoire to which you can add more spells. Yes, but you are just thinking of grimoires as repositories for spells. My opinion is much closer to that of Richard. Grimoires are more systems of thinking, system...

Re: The coming Legend OGL

you have to state (and the user see) all the open content you use. Sooh... you would have to include the program code related to, say the game system, if that is imported directly? CA, CM etc. Hmm, that could become tiresome to handle. - Dan Well not quite. I believe Minions Of Mirth used 3.5ed D&D...

Re: The coming Legend OGL

I think you have the wrong end of the stick. Only the Legend books (the main rulebooks and the ... Of Legend books) will be open-content. I seriously doubt they would allow free use of the Deus Vult 'brand', and probably can't allow free use of the Elric trademark/brand (I don't know if Elric is tra...

Re: Subsector Graphics

Nice.

Lanth has a scout base too though (I assume you just overlooked this). It would also be nice to see "Lanth" in caps or a different colour or something to show that it is the capital.

I don't do in-game music - although sometimes may play a track at the start of the game to get people to focus. I am planning to start a new game next month and will use "Space Is Deep" by Hawkwind at the start. Having said that some of the bands mentioned are good ones (I'm a big fan of early Ozric...

But isn't there BRP as well, which is an iteration of RQ? Simple answer. No. Long answer. Not really. Longer answer. BRP was first published in 1980 as a very cut down version of RQ for general roleplaying. Since then it has had a lot added into it to help support stuff not catered for by RQ rulese...

Yep - great character sheet. I will be using these when I start a game (I'm the GM) towards the end of the month. One slight issue (which doesn't matter for me or I guess nearly anyone else). The "Service History" heading isn't on the Headings layer but the Text layer. Green or purple for me looks n...

the personal noun and adjective is "Moslem" (e.g., "He is Moslem/He is a Moslem/He follows the Moslem faith", "Moslem practices include hajj and fasting during Ramadan.", etc.). "Islamic/Islamist" refers to a political movement that masquerades as a religious one; "Muslim" (as in "Black Muslim") re...

The most important factor for reading PDFs is resolution which is why I went the Transformer route (I use it for far more than gaming and as a software developer hope to extend my skills to Android programming). But I don't think you will have a problem on a tablet with slightly lower res than the T...

Well, that assumes that it's legal to do so - I've assumed (and will, until Mongoose says otherwise) that it's illegal to do so in the UK. Also, reformatting the text will also screw up the table of contents - something I'd *like* to avoid if possible - I'd sooner strain to see the screen than do t...

Re: MRQ1 vs MRQ2, also MRQ1 Glorantha vs MRQ2 Glorantha

How does the Glorantha material written for MRQ2 compare to that for MRQ1? I already have for MRQ1 G:tSA, Cults 1&2, Magic of Glorantha, Players Guide & Ralios (and am likely to buy the remaining MRQ1 Glorantha PDFs) - is there any benefit to getting the MRQ2 books? Yes. Cults Of Glorantha is so mu...

For those youngsters reading who don't know what things cost in them days (1980 - for RQ2). A paperback fiction book was about £1.25. A hardback fiction book was about £6.95. So, RQ sold for roughly 5 times the cost of a peprback. Since paperbacks go for about, what, 6.00 nowadays, that means that ...

But in reality it is down to where the publisher wants to position the game in the market. Runequest and Glorantha has always been considered a premium brand. RQ3 was near the top end of the price list spectrum for RPGs when it was released. Actually RQ2 in the UK (along with the other GW publicati...

But the point is, if Leather Bound Hardbacks are the best and cheapest (or joint cheapest) way of presenting the rules, why are the next edition going to be in £10 "digest sized" books? If the first edition of MRQ had been written as well as MRQ2 and priced in this bracket I suspect that much of th...

What a very strange turnout. I assume the Name "Runequest" belongs to another company or something? Yes, Runequest as a name/brand was licensed as well as Glorantha. I guess from a business pov a name change is wise. Too many people think that Runequest == Glorantha. Also a name change and format c...

What was the reasoning behind altering the printing format of RQ2 for Wayfarer ? Will Wayfarer supplements follow the same formatting? I'm not that familiar with the Lone Wolf rpg, and it took some digging on Amazon to determine that its "half-size" is roughly 8" x 8". Rather unusual. 8.5 x 5.5. It...
