OK, so I was wrong - no surprise there. That is even better for me. Still don't know how to sign up and all that though.

Re: Looking for players - The price of quietude
OK, as I am new to all of that, but am interested, how do I sign up? And, are characters going to be made during the first session? Pre-session? Bring in premade PCs?
Unless I am wrong in my time calculation, 4PM GM+1 means 9PM for us east coast USAers. Right?

Re: Missile launches
How many missiles can a launcher fire per round? If, say, a launcher has ten missiles can it launch all ten? A turret fires one per turret per volley, so long as each turret* is a missile turret. (Duh. :D ) So, a single turret fires one, a double fires two, triple = three, and the quad = four. A ba...

Re: State of the Mongoose 2019
Has this been done? I don't see it on the site. I am looking for the 2300 being updated to the 2nd edition, particularly CharGen and ShipBuild. Is this being done?

Thanks guys. I guess that means that there isn't something already out there, huh? That's cool. I get to create one. Hippie!

Help me find an Animal Name...
...or make one up. OK, so I have built a large vessel, dedicated to mining (converted the Leviathan-class merchant cruiser, actually) and want to name it. Now, I am looking at naming it after an animal - specifically Vilani or Sylean in origin - that would be analogous to the Terran mole, or aardvar...

Thanks, good to know.AnotherDilbert wrote: ↑Fri Apr 10, 2020 8:08 amYou fire a 1DD railgun spinal at a ship with Armour 10. You roll a 3 for damage doing 3000 points of damage. The target ship deducts 10 × 2% = 20% for armour, taking 3000 × 80% = 2400 damage.

Re: What's the point of a large bay?
The more I learn about the space combat of this system, the less I like it. So many little fiddly bits that are hard to find and if you don't, it doesn't seem to make much sense. There is the nugget of some good stuff in there, I just think that they should have made it a bit easier and just used a ...

I figured that the current situation would affect things. I guess I will just have to keep an eye on the website. Thanks for the info.

I have been wondering about them also, but in a different vein. I was wondering why they have the same damage as the medium bays - or is that fixed in some errata I don't know about?

Re: Mass drivers
Just wondering if there are specifics on how ortillery must be used. Your idea that advanced materials make it possible is a good one. I think they are used like other weapons with plusses and minuses indicated in the rulebook. The thing about the advanced materials, as indicated by Condottiere, th...

Re: Mass drivers
A mass driver, a.k.a. "ortillery gun" according to High Guard, "fires large, solid projectiles at speeds optimised for smashing planetary targets." But...how close would they have to be to a planet that has a thin or higher atmosphere to avoid the ammo burning up in the atmosphere while enroute to ...

Re: What would you like to see?
and the recent Kickstarter Deepnight Revelation is all about it. Not sure when it will be available to non-kickstarters (Fall?) but it is all about a twenty year voyage into the great unknown, with plenty of opportunity to go "off script" into your own adventures. That sounds perfect. Hope it comes...

Let’s see... a bunch can be found here: https://www.mongoosepublishing.com/high-guard.html . Scroll down a bit and you’ll find a downloadable zip-file with all the High Guard ships. I can’t seem to find the core book or high Guard Aslan files though... it’s possible they were included upon purchase...

Deepnight Revelation
So, I just heard of this thing, which is a particular favorite type of campaign of mine, and I assume that the kickstarter is over (right?). Is there a timeframe for when the box will be able to be purchased by non-backers? PS: I have been looking for the 2D deckplans, but cannot find them. Could so...

Re: What would you like to see?
A series of true exploration adventures, accompanied by GM specific information and tools on how to craft your own. A vast majority of the adventures I see for Traveller all deal with being in civilized space. Sure, sometimes that is at the edge - often it is at the edge - but so rare in the actual ...

Do you mean that the brought in stats from earlier editions and didn't check them against the new rules?Condottiere wrote: ↑Sat Mar 21, 2020 8:42 amIf this is a legacy specification or derived thereof, it probably isn't optimal to begin with.
Anyway, I was able to find some of the answers on my own, and will continue to do so.
