Do characters without night vision suffer a -2 penalty to combat rolls in darkness, the same as if their targets have cover or am I missing a rule somewhere? Any player that is good at role-playing will not care if another player at the table has been a professional full-time game master for 30+ years or not. They just care if the player is good at role-playing. Such players are hard to find.

I would use the one shown on the same page, if I was planning to use any psionic abilities.

Good catch, finding that page 73 reference bug. Each type of encounter has its own Range Band chart (with different scales). The chart on 73 is not even a Range Band chart. Just an example of weapon ranges.

I just say the tech level of the stunner is why it works the way it does. They don't separate meat from bone.

Role-play is character-driven. RPGs are not about winning the game. Try basing your characters on TV or movie characters that you like and are familiar with at first before making characters with rushed or missing backstories.

Some players don't like some of the consolidated and refined MgT1 rules that are in MgT2. MgT2 removes some of the slow-down in Traveller games.
