Re: What's Traveller5 like?

No examples of what the books actually look like inside, no examples of illustrations, no video examples of playtesting, nothing on show for this Kickstarter at all of the quality of the final product other than a quick 3d rendered image of the books spines. Yet a lot of people have thrown good mone...

Re: What is "canon" these days?

George Lucas decided what was canon for Star Wars, now Disney decide Gene Roddenbery decided what was canon for Star Trek, now CBS and Paramount decide Marc Miller decides what is canon for Traveller Generally I would say the latest set of rules are canon as they were approved by Marc last - so that...

Re: Journal of the Travellers' Aid Society - Kickstarter is Live!

That £100 set is a bit daft a few pencils and dice are not going to make me want to splash out another £50. You should perhaps have made it a lot more tempting like selling glossy prints of some of the better Traveller V1 cover art, or perhaps a set of full 0.5" square size 2d ship plans (not 3d) of...

Re: First 2e Session!

Very nice just done the same thing with my sons character. Now you need to flesh out the interesting details as suggested in 'Gamemastering' http://www.gamemastering.info/ Generate some allies (for help), contacts (for info), enemies and rivals, and maybe even a nemesis for the character(s) that con...

Re: So, what's with the supplements?

I must admit I have never been very keen on any of the Traveller aliens, they are all fairly unimaginative. As for new books I would love to see in V2 format: Soldier Book (Army/Merc/Marine Units, Large Battle System as background for characters to play a personal game inside/Ship Boarding rules/Min...

Re: Traveller Companion breakdown/ review

Dude, you're complaining about lack of information on what's in the book, by posting on a thread promoting a 3,000+ word review of the book. Did you consider clicking the link and reading review? Yeah I realised that after I posted, which was an extremely stupid thing to do. Anyway I've bought it n...

Re: Traveller Companion breakdown/ review

Does anyone have a contents page from the Traveller Companion they can share? I am interested in this book but can't decide to buy something when I don't know what's in it. Mongoose's book previews on this site, when they appear, are very poor. I am sure they would do a lot more online business if ...

Re: A lot of worlds over 1g gravity. How do 1G thrust ships take off?

So have we established whether ships with 1G M-Drives could take off from a world with 1G of gravity at its surface? Do they use antigrav drives to get into orbit? I am sure I've read something like that, it's the only thing that seems to make sense to me.

Re: The Traveller Companion - PDF & Pre-Order

WTF? How many errors in this book? This does my head in, I mean how easy would it be for someone to spend a week reading this book properly and correcting it before its printed to stop all these errors. Ridiculous.

Traveller V2 Vehicle Combat ????

Can anyone explain to me how vehicle combat is meant to work in the V2 rules? Because it says that they function as the personnel combat rules which have 1 minor and 1 significant action per round. But if you have to spend the minor action keeping control and driving/flying and you spend the signifi...

Re: Mongoose Traveller - The New and current updated edition. What do you expect from this new line?

Yes definitely interested in a Travellers Aid Society book. It should really be part of a Third Imperium Source Book that is badly needed IMO as there is nothing published lately about the main source of gameplay for many people who play Traveller - its been a massive omission for many many years. I...

Referees Briefings

Are there any plans to incorporate all these into one printed document? I dont read pdfs but many of these articles look really great and I would love to see them inside a 'proper' book. Perhaps the Travellers Companion?

Re: Mongoose Traveller - The New and current updated edition. What do you expect from this new line?

..to continue what they are doing. More colour, more solid creative illustrations, more thought and better designs, less errors, far higher quality than the previous books. There are some things like the animals that I would like to see done better but overall the new line is growing on me and I am ...

I have never been really interested in the Traveller aliens Ive always thought they were more than a bit corny. Re: High Guard Boarding Action Rules

I feel there is no way you could dock with a maneuvering ship IMO unless you are a pirate or specialist boarding ship with a specially designed piece of apparatus that will fully secure the ships before boarding takes place. And I am thinking large jaws or struts with shooting bolts into the enemies...

Re: Refereeing a climb down a cliff

Thanks everyone for your help it has cleared my mind. Especially the comments about being prepared when the roll fails - I do like the idea of having failed rolls mean some lesser consequence like being noticed by enemies or being delayed on the climb or taking a very long time to do the cliff etc r...

Refereeing a climb down a cliff

I have always been a bit shaky on refereeing things like obstacles or tasks that you want to be quite interesting for the players but not drag on too long but be more than a single throw. For example in my present game my player has come to a cliff and he needs to get down. Now obviously I could jus...
