Re: Pirates of Drinax - GMs thread
They had the jump drive disassembled and fenced. The group plan to use the funds from this for a variety of purposes including getting some ships built and the harriers recovered from the hidden Sindal base operational again.

Re: Pirates of Drinax - GMs thread
Yes, my group found out the location of the 'missing' mega freighter (tracked down a crew member enjoying an extended holiday on Torpal, which is a world very friendly to the group now), took control of it with a bit of help from said crew member and got it back to Drinax where it is now being turne...

Re: [Pirates of Drinax: The Demon's Eye] Anyone run this one yet?
Running this adventure now, and have run it a few years ago when the campaign first came out. In the current run of the adventure the PCs are about to reach Neumann for the final showdown with the Dr, and are still utterly unaware of who Lemuel is. In both cases the players want tech world on their ...

Pirates of Drinax, campaign concluded
Last Sunday (25 September 2016) my group and i finally brought this campaign to its epic conclusion after a year of play. It has been one of the best campaigns i have had the privilege of running in Traveller. My thanks to Gareth Hanrahan for writing this, and Matthew Sprange for publishing it. We, ...

Re: Overcoming Combat Armor Near-Invincibility
Gauss rifles or Heavy ACRs with AP ammo
.
More seriously, Gauss rifle is already AP5, and with AP ammo that becomes AP9, heavy ACRs are not quite as good but cheaper. Also, were you adding effect to the damage rolls, that can make a lot of difference as well.

Re: Art: feedback/critique requested.
I like this art, nice style to the ships. The blurred background gives the impression of speed/movement and the weapons fire adds drama to the image. My only criticism is the top ship side weapons look too long barrelled, the weapon depictions on the other two ships look better and more 'realistic'.

Re: Central Supply Cometh
On page 129 of CSC the picture of the cannon appears to be a tripod mounted machine gun, i think it is swapped with the heavy machine gun image that appears to be a cannon. Also, some of the DD weapons (for mentioned cannon and heavy cannon a few entries down) can use AP ammo, but according to the A...

Re: [JBE] Kraft Fighter (Feedback Please)
Most of it looks ok to me, the only problem i can see is the power points are wrong, a 2 ton TL13 fusion power plant generates 15 power per ton, so power points would be 30 not 21.

Re: Very Long Range and the High Tech Advantage
He is getting the triple particle turret from the Hi tech chapter (8) of high guard. Particle turret weapons existed in mongoose 1st ed, but have become a hi tech, non cannon weapon now.

DD and AP?
Still not clear how this works, as some DD weapons can make use of AP ammo (TL8 cannon for example) As written AP adds the dice roll as the AP trait, but that would make said gun damage 1DD AP 1, which does not seem right. Is it the equivalent number of dice for DD weapons (in this case 10 as 10-60 ...

Weapon stats
Having final got to look over this properly, i have a couple of suggested tweaks to a few of the weapons; The sniper rifle damage seems a little low, i would suggest a damage of 3D+3 The big game rifle damage also seems a little low, for that i would suggest a damage of 4D, and maybe drop to just bu...

I would keep it simple and just use a bane die when both weapons are fired, plus any usually DMs for combat.

Re: Electronics Suite
Reading that section, it does not apply to flak jackets etc as they are not suits. Non powered suits are the armours listed after that chart, the boarding vacc suit and combat armour and so on. That section of text may need a little clarifying.

Re: [Playtest Focus] Equipment Chapter
I actually like the new armour ratings, the old version, especially for combat armour and battle dress were just too low (pistols and TL7 assault rifles could easily penetrate TL11-12 combat armour (not very good combat armour if a low tech weapon can punch through.) As i have yet to play test them,...

Re: Applying Damage
Actually in first edition damage came from END first, then the remaining came of either STR or DEX, it was not divided up as the player wants among the two remaining attributes. In this play test edition it says that damage is removed from END first, then the remaining is deducted from targets STR o...

My thoughts on the combat chapter
I have read through this section a few time now and find that though I like most of the changes, there are (in my opinion) some problems. Initiative is straight forward, as it always has been. Also nice is the change to allow INT or DEX DM to be used. Ambushes need to be clarified a little, as I rea...

My thoughts on task and skills
Overall I find I like most of this chapter. The task system is not exactly radically different from 1st ed and I like the set difficulty numbers idea. The boon and bane system is interesting and I think I understand how it works, though yet to use it in a game. The skill section is okay as well, and...
