Re: New Starship Models From Foreven Shipyards!

Anyway, nice detail. Not sure I care for the translucent that much, so I guess I should paint it. Since I'm a compulsive Traveller collector, I'll need to go order the rest... If you just paint them grey, and then do a black wash, the detail will really show and they will look good on the table. No...

Re: New Starship Models From Foreven Shipyards!

I see that the price doesn't scale linearly. A pair of fighters, 10 dtons each, are $7, or 35 cents per dton. Your largest model, the 400 dton subsidized merchant, is $18, or 4.5 cents per dton. I looked again, and I see you're using the high detail plastic. That does sound like it would be nicer t...

Re: New Starship Models From Foreven Shipyards!

They are 3D printed by Shapeways and only available at the 1:1000 scale. You are correct about the cost going up greatly with size, and making them smaller would be problematic at this scale. And it wouldn't really save all that much money since there is a minimum cost regardless of volume of materi...

Re: Traveller Starships on Shapeways

I posted this on Facebook, but thought I would share it here as well for those of you who are interested: I get a fair number of questions on the scale of our miniatures. I thought it might be helpful to list the sizes of our current and upcoming models: Scout/Courier - 36mm Seeker - 36mm Free Trade...

Re: Traveller Starships on Shapeways

Got my subsidized merchant and launch today. First, I'd like to tell you the sculpt and scale are excellent. Perfect size really. Much bigger than the TNE subby mini that came out in the 90s. The launch looks great, too. A little critical feedback: The base prong does not fit into the subby's mount...

Excellent, thank you!

Re: Traveller Starships on Shapeways

My first thought, unfortunately was that they look pretty expensive. Nice iconic designs, but pricey. I did a little more looking into this after I noticed you are in the UK. At the bottom of the Shapeways page, you can change the location and currency, both of which affect the price. The Scout Cou...

Re: Traveller Starships on Shapeways

My first thought, unfortunately was that they look pretty expensive. Nice iconic designs, but pricey. They are printed in what Shapeways calls Frosted Ultra Detail. We test printed a number of potential materials during the design process and it is the best in terms of detail and paintability. We h...

I noticed the maps (all of them) spell the planet Gari as Gary. It is Gari in the text.

Re: The Traveller Adventure

Perhaps you'd like to tell Narl to go rewrite the Traveller Adventure since he suggested it? I'd consider it. How much would something like that pay? :) I didn't mean to incite a disagreement. The question is really more for Mongoose. They already revised it for 1st edition so moving it to 2nd shou...

Red Character Sheet

Can we get a PDF of the character sheet in the book with the red lettering for the headers? The dark grey on black headers are hard to read. The sheet really needs a splash of color as well. Overall, it is pretty bland but the red headers would help a lot.
