Re: Need help creating some Demonic Cults for my Legend game

There were som Chaos cults for Glorantha that could also be directly ported over. I would suggest checking out the MRQ2 Cults of Glorantha book, I think it still may be very cheap on Drivethru Rpg. If you mix that up with the Demon rules from Stormbringer you'll have some good demonology cults for y...

Re: Elric: Increasing Pact.

Are Hero Points in Elric ? (I only have Chaosium's Stormbringer , not Mongoose's Elric ). I do have MRQ2 and LEGEND however. Perhaps you can grant Hero Points for acting accordingly to the virtues associated with the deity you have a Pact with, although I'ld limit this to dramatic actions, not every...

Re: Sorry guys...

I'm not sure how anyone can return to D&D from RQ...maybe to WW or Savage Worlds, or even a D20 OGL like True20, but to D&D?

Just can't see how it can be done. A bit like going from Win7 back to DOS... :D

Re: MRQ1 Publishing Info Needed

BTW, on a semi-related note, does anyone know if there are going to be any hardcover (or full-sized, for that matter) Legend printings? Personally, I thought the format of the MRQII books was the best, most beautiful choice ever, and was heartbroken to see the Legend revisions not following suit. I...

Re: Arcania of Legend: Blood Magic - PDF Now Available

This looks cool - I have the print copy on pre-order. I'm thinking this could have a wide scope, such as portraying fantasy Mesoamerican-type Priests through to Demonologists. Sounds cool.

Re: Different New "of Legend" Settings

Well if Glorantha has got the boot then Shadow World would be great to pick the slack up I reckon. It's a huge world, only partially detailed in all those old Rolemaster supplements, a great place to sandbox. I'm sure the licence would be much cheaper than going after The Hyborian Age again, or the ...

Re: Leatherbound Legend Hardcovers: Pretty please?!?! :)

I love the digest size for the gaming table, and the digest cost for the wallet. But my bookcase would really love to see LEGEND in all it's hardcover glory, I think a LEGEND core rules omnibus is a great idea, a huge weighty tome that has all the essential rules under one cover, like the core rules...

Re: Malazan Book of the Fallen

This would be a huge winner for LEGEND! Having the copyright for this would probably define LEGEND I reckon. Chaosium's BRP is identified with the Lovecraftian setting, The Design Mechanism's RQ6 will be identified with Glorantha, and LEGEND could be identified with the Malazan setting. Yep it's a s...

Re: Legend vs. OpenQuest

Well I think the way to go is with with LEGEND, but OpenQuest has a great way of simplifying things and is a useful resource to have in your bag of tricks. OpenQuest has some good settings attached to it. 'The Age of Shadow' is a Tolkienesque setting if you want to do generic classic fantasy, and I ...

Re: The Legend Soundtrack

When I think of RQ3 I have memories of Guns n Roses 'Appetite For Destruction', 'The Lost Boys' soundtrack, and Jethro Tull's 'Songs From The Wood'. Must be a limbic thing... I often use pc soundtracks these days, such as 'Worlds of Warcraft' and such. We recently played with the 'Age of Conan' pc s...

If you buy the RQ Lankhmar book you'll find it has a great 'Corruption' mechanic for Sorcery, and some good advice on how to run a sword n sorcery game - highly recommended if you are doing this genre justice

Re: 2nd Printing Schedule?

Make sure it's digest-sized as well. I never thought I'ld like it in digest format, but it feels very handy and also gives it me the illusion of being more 'rules-lite' than it actually is.

A hardcover or leatherette edition would be very very welcome... :D

Re: 'Evade' skill in combat?

I'd go with Roger Dan's idea about using Heroic Abilities to display cool martial arts techniques for Legend. It fits the system and it's got a wide scope for customization. You'ld have to design some Fighting Style packages, and allocate different Hero Point costs to different techniques, perhaps s...

Re: 'Evade' skill in combat?

This talk of real-life combat is fascinating, but on the topic of game mechanics 'Evade', I'ld look at doing whatever springs to mind, and let the rules follow. If you are unarmed, than Evade is likely to be a good option, not only to get out of the way, but perhaps to a location that you can become...
