Ok, here's how I'm thinking this house rule is gonna go. 1 Fate Point + Move equivalent action = 1 Hit Die roll + Con mod of TEMPORARY Hit Points that expire a # of rounds equal to your Con score. No mention made of a character with different classes that use different HD or what happens after leve...

Agreeing with the last two posters and repeating myself, but if a temptress is seeing a lot of combat, she should be taking levels in solider and or barbarian. If she's fighting all the time, she's not a temptress. If she's refusing to take melee classes and refusing armour then she has to specializ...

Sands of Death is much cooler. Serpent of the South is very confusing from a Black Kingdom world view seeing as it's North.

Excellant points, as always. I just had a question and wanted to point one thing out: First, I thought Power Attack increased damage by X where X = a penalty to the attack roll? I don't recall any double damage rules besides the normal critical hit rate. I realize I'm probably wrong (and I'll check...

the thing overpowered by RAW is TWO-HANDED WEAPON combined with POWER ATTACK combined with MASSIVE DAMAGE. that is something everybody aggree. You'll note my example didn't use 2-h weapons... At 10th level sneak attack will cause massive damage, reckless attack will cause massive damage, power atta...

70-30? Well I hope you get some simulation proof for me. Because the difference come down to barbarian getting uncanny dodge vs Nomad get 2 extra feat and a sligthly better parry bonus, it is more than doubtful to create a 40% gap. Actually it isn't. If initiative is equal and the barbarian wins, h...

@Apple: Dishing 20 damages a round is not trivial. Maybe if you act first and you can max your power attack, otherwise you need to hit wich is not a garanty if especially if you drop your attack bonus. Even if your armour get destroyed after 2 or 3 blow it will likely have strucked some damage and ...

If WOTC would release sales numbers, I'd almost guarantee that they are severly in the red after PHB2 sales. http://www.thecoremechanic.com/2009/04/players-handbook-2-on-wsj-top-15-best.html They are selling out and going into 2nd printings on their books. They're doubtless selling dozens if not hu...

I find your way of looking at the classes unusual. For one thing, I rate hit points as a trivial factor. Trivial might not be correct, but it still has to come far down on the list of things I'd be concerned with, past specials, saves, BAB and DV progressions, even weapon proficiencies. HPs are jus...

4E is selling EXTREMELY well. My guess as to why they stopped letting 3rd party companies sell their PDFs is because they don't want to split the money with them anymore and will sell them all themselves. The same reason they took the Dungeon/Dragon from Paizo and are selling them as PDFs online now...

It's for every PC. I'd recommend simply using a single XP total for the entire party and just using that for everyone. It saves record keeping and stops people from falling behind and feeling (and being) useless.

I'm not sure if the fling aside maneuver should actually require a touch attack instead of a regular attack. I am not convinced that grabbing a sword blade with his bare hands will do the attacker any good. What do you think? Slapping someone's wrist guard with your sword isn't going to stop them f...

Also, while many of the class changes seem attractive in their own right, I am rather disappointed by what they did to the Fighter. Guess what, they give the Fighter more combat abilities! Woo hoo! The class still gets 2+int skill points and the same crappy skill list. This is NOT what this class n...

Side note, but Conan grapple and SRD grapple aren't the same either. Conan grapple is only 1 roll as well, although I find the rules fairly unclear and still need cleaned up, but thats a different thread. I haven't seen the pahtfinder RPG system, but I'd assume Conan could be run in anything really,...

No. They're using the off hand for two attacks. If the player wants to take a -5 penalty for it being their second attack, allow it, otherwise it's pretty clearly against the rules.

As far as I know there is not one special attack specializing in non-humans, but that's alright since in Conan most enemies are humans after all. I've only really looked closely at two published adventures, but neither are predominantly human opponents. Take a look at the bestiary in the Conan book...

You don't need quickdraw, you don't typically trip with your hands... in fact you'd want a weapon of some sort. Anyway, yes, Improved Trip is a pretty good feat if you're fighting humans a lot. Against hippos, rhinos, tigers, crocodiles, giant spiders and the like... not as useful. Likewise Improved...

Trial of Blood. The older books I don't even see languages listed for NPCs. ToB has a much better NPC writeup.
