Just a headsup - if you have the Second Edition Core Rulebook in PDF from DTRPG, it's just been updated. You'll have to check it out in your My Library page. Re: New Zozer Games SF setting - Hostile - Gritty, near'ish future
Okay, people, one post's been reported twice. You've now got a mod's attention. Back to your corners, please. Play nice. And stop sharing the offending post. Time to ignore that inflammatory comment, and anyone who shares it and comments on it. I have sent a PM to the sender of that post, so just k...

News About Marc W Miller, Traveller Creator (pbuh)
A few weeks back, Marc W Miller faced a personal crisis. Some tests over the summer indicated that he required urgent cardiac surgery. He was not suffering any symptoms, but it was an urgent decision he had to make, and he went in to have his surgery. I just received news that he is out of surgery a...

Re: Supplement 14: Space Stations - Now on Drivethru!
This was Mongoose's first foray into space station territory. Second Edition High Guard has refined on this somewhat, and more: it has established that space station design is as important as ship design in the core rules for Second Edition Traveller . As for the feel of what life is like on a stati...

Or you could try M-Space, and you can make your SF as hard as you like.

Happy Fortieth Birthday, Traveller!
Traveller was first published on the first day of the Origins Game Fair on Staten Island, which was July 22, 1977. On July 22, 2017, Traveller turned 40 years old. Wherever you are (unless you're off-planet that day), raise a toast to Marc Miller and his Little Black Books, and play a game of Travel...

Re: Ship Shares and death
There really are no rules on what happens to ship shares when a Traveller dies. The logical course of action is to assume that the crewmember will have signed ownership of the ship shares back to the ship upon his death, through some clause written into his crew employment contract and written into ...

Re: Large amounts of cash on ships
Currency in the 52nd century would work the same way currency has in the past That cannot be assumed to be correct. The economy of the Far Future might not work the same as the American economy c. 2017, any more than it can be assumed to work the way it used to c. 1977. Whether or not the Imperium ...

Re: Large amounts of cash on ships
I wouldn't say that commodities are necessarily stable or liquid. Popular varieties of bullion – such as gold, silver, and platinum in our world – are very liquid, but sometimes fluctuate wildly relative to major currencies. Gems are even more prone to fluctuation, and often not very liquid except ...

Re: Large amounts of cash on ships
Exactly. But it still pays to deposit often and regularly in your local bank branches. Each branch would have your credstik and citizen ID, and any cash transactions would be taken out of your local branch's account first, and any outsystem accounts afterwards. If you had a pile of bullion worth Cr ...

Re: Large amounts of cash on ships
The only time ships need to be carrying large amounts of cash on them is just after one of their jobs. The crew needs to get their cash value goods stowed away in a bank in a Class A or B Starport as quickly as possible, and their credstiks updated with the new value. Their credstiks would then keep...
