Re: Spells of Legend

I just wanted to make absolutely sure that they were no longer needed before resubmitting them for inclusion in the book. I am now certain.

Re: Spells of Legend

By the way, would you like all those shiny Common Magic spells that I removed a while back? Turns out that the project I needed them for has been completed, more or less, and they can now benefit Legend players again.

Hope you kept the list.

Re: Spells of Legend

How about "Slow Ageing" having the following effect:- Providing the caster uses this spell daily as part of their morning routine, the spell ensures that every aging roll on Persistence and Resilience made by the caster is Very Easy, with no negative modifiers. If the caster lives right, eats more h...

Re: Spells of Legend

Good stuff, though I do see anti-ageing magic as more of a sorcery thing myself. Perhaps we need a Sorcery spell allowing the caster to steal the youth of sacrificial victims, giving it to a group of recipients? It's hinted you can do this with Tap (Characteristic), but the details aren't specific....

Thank you for this book. I do hope there'll be a Volume 2 of the JTAS.

Re: Hop Drives and Skip Drives

Thanks for the clarification! Sounds like a game changer and definitely interesting. It certainly would be. If you were a ref, imagine having your crew stumble across an Annic Nova style ship which comes equipped with a Jump-2 and a Hop-1. Power for the drives comes from collectors (High Guard, p. ...

Imagine my amusement when I found out that the topic of this article was not about what I thought it would be about, but instead focused on mostly very small guns with really short barrels.

Just to clarify for me as someone who has not yet read JTAS Vol. 6: The hop drive technology still uses the standard jump length of around 7 days?
Yes. The standard 148 + 6D hours.

Hop Drives and Skip Drives

The sixth volume of The Journal of the Travellers' Aid Society contains an article on a ship with a unique and exceptionally powerful drive, the Hop Drive. "Hops cover 10 parsecs for each rating. This is a minimum, so jumping less than 10 parsecs takes the same fuel and time as jumping 10 parsecs an...

Re: Mongoose News - Journal of the Travellers' Aid Society Volume 6

I love the article on the Type-R Subby, my favourite class of vessel - more than the Type A2 Far Trader. That alone would have sold the whole book for me - but there is so much more in this magazine. I also love the stats on Hop Drives. I can imagine the Traveller grogs grumbling over the possibilit...

Re: The Spam Reporting Thread

It doesn't really look like he's spamming. He just posts ... on topics that don't quite fit. He posts HP stuff on the Legend board because it won't fit on Paranoia or Traveller, but it's like he's ... well, he's been posting like this for years, which for me suggests learning diffculties rather than...

Congratulations on reaching the £20,000 starter funding threshold! The project is a go, and it's just a matter of reaching for the stretch goals.

Good luck!

Re: Would their be reprecussions?

If it's within the cop's jurisdiction, priority 1 is completing the assignment. Petty thievery, B&E, are not enough of a priority. The character should call it in and let the precinct handle it. Maybe come back later to make inquiries and submit dashcam footage as they were officer on scene during t...

Holi, And Other Local Cultural Festivals

2019-03-20 and 2019-03-21 are the days of Holi, where celebrants pelt one another with clouds of multicoloured gulal powder. A while back, I was inspired by Holi to write in a local custom called powderpuffing in Castrobancla, the City of Aliens . There's a slight difference - powderpuffing is a ben...

Re: "Nozzles" on the Element cruisers

"Well, the thing's gotta have a tailpipe!" - Lt Uhura, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country I think it's SF expectation. Science fiction shows and movies show the ship's stern end, and if its backside looked like that no wonder it's stern, and then the big pipes at the back would glow whatever col...

Type L Lab Ship - Where's The Bridge?

I'm looking at the Lab Ship in the Traveller Core Rulebook, and I'm wondering where the bridge is. Or is the ship controlled from the pinnace?

Re: How to run a siege ?

Which would be the most challenging - the players as besiegers, looking to scheme and connive their way into the fortification like dogs? Or the players stuck in the middle of the siege, rooting out spies, saboteurs and enemies scaling the walls, defending the wells and food reserves from those same...
