Re: Constructing Deck Plans Oddity...

An unwritten rule has been "within 20%". Most deck plan makers have used as much as 20% over listed tonnage to allow adequate corridors and access space around the components. Oh it is written (almost): STEP TWO: Check the overall tonnage of the ship. Each ton is usually represented by 2 squares on...

Re: Does Oleb trust them too much?

Why do they have to be your own age?

If nobody in your area will (and those ones don't sound like they are worth it), then that doesn't mean giving up gaming, there's the possibility of some form of online play, there's also gaming conventions. Or some form of gaming that doesn't involve RPG's.

Well, cutlass would be the usual for the Marines:

This. Also, I'd love to see some traveller on a smaller scale, places with tons of adventure that can be used as a base or visited frequently. A starport - orbital and downport, detailed like a fantasy city supplement. A city under the sea, or in the clouds of a gas giant, that sort of thing. You s...

Yes true, and organ growth can serve another purpose as well. What if you wanted to make a flesh and blood android for example with only a computer substituting for the brain, everything else is flesh and blood. To grow the android, you would need to get a DNA sample from the donor, possibly even w...

There is a smaller 1,000 ton Imperial Navy tender in Supplement 10: Merchants and Cruisers. Not intended to resupply large fleets.

Re: Prison adventure ideas

Yet, if you automate the Navigator, why do you need a pilot? Surely ships in Traveller should have an autopilot capable of landing a ship or taking a ship off (even doing insertions for gas giant scooping for that matter). It'd require sensors and so on, but things that like could probably be found...

Mongoose published a pretty ambitious "State of the Mongoose" last January. It doesn't look like most of that's going to see the light of day this year unless they clone Martin. Just need some Spaarti cylinders. https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/f/f6/SpaartiCloneCenter.jpg/revisio...

I worked on it some more last night, and more pieces seem to be hidden or absent. Besides the Trav4.psd that I already mentioned, I can't figure out where the faint hex map over space background of the books (such as the introduction page) might be hiding. It appears to be comprised of at least thr...

Re: AAR: 800 pts USN vs IJN

The first thing I would like to discuss with everyone is the destroyers vs. bad weather issue. The realism in me says this works well and nicely counterbalances the destroyer horde that tries to overwhelm an enemy with torps. The gamer in me says victory should always be possible. I think I know th...
