• A ship running an Intellect program and Expert Pilot can be the
pilot.
One problem with this, the Intellect program only covers INT or EDU checks, Pilot is usually DEX based.

Re: 1st edition - spaceship questions

-Autopilot = vehicles can have the autopilot option installed, however there is no mention of such thing in the spacehips chapter. I'm sure spaceships can be automated when cruising in space or in jump space, correct? If not, that would mean that the pilot has to work 24/24 7/7 :) where can I find ...

Re: Pirates of Drinax 2nd Ed: Typos, Errors, Bugs, Gremlins, Etc.

So, just to be clear, It looks like we work in book order, so armour is before Stealth and therefore applies first. So, reinforced, light and special hulls will adjust armour cost but rad shielding, Stealth, etc do not? And of the options I listed above for the harrier, 5.76MCr is the right option?...

Re: Pirates of Drinax 2nd Ed: Typos, Errors, Bugs, Gremlins, Etc.

Since you're here, could you clarify the inferred question above, When calculating armour cost, which hull cost do we use? Already mentioned in an earlier post in this thread (concerning the Harrier). Streamlining is figured into the hull cost for armour purposes anyways. Coatings such as stealth a...

Yeah, where can we get the errata?
I'm not seeing one listed for either the CRB or a high Guard on the Mongoose product pages with other downloads....
There isn't one.

That adjustment should have been in before the PDF was released, not sure what happened.

Re: Pirates of Drinax 2nd Ed: Typos, Errors, Bugs, Gremlins, Etc.

Question - If I reduce the mass of a component and the cost is determined using mass, do I use the full unreduced mass for the calculation, or the reduced mass? Use the reduced mass. J-Drive, High-Tech Advantages Note that Stealth jump normally requires two advantages, thus the Harrier breaks the r...

If I remember correctly, the PoD Harrier is a 'fixer upper' for the players to spend money on, patch engines, new coat of paint, that second turret.
Yup, it could use a fair bit of work.

Re: Pirates of Drinax 2nd Ed: Typos, Errors, Bugs, Gremlins, Etc.

OK, Base Hull is 1o million, reinforced is +50%, so another 5 giving 15 million Streamlining that is 20% of the 15 million so 3 Million So the outer skin of the ship is 13 Million. What calculation do you use on the 13 million to get the 2.6 million armor cost? That is the part that I am just not u...

Re: Pirates of Drinax 2nd Ed: Typos, Errors, Bugs, Gremlins, Etc.

OKay AndrewW, the armor cost is still confusing me. What calculatiopn are you using to get 2.6 Mcr? And how is streamlining playing a part in that? use small words, i am currently a little sleep deprived. insomnia sucks. The streamlining takes into account he reinforced hull, thus is 3MCr + the hul...

Re: Harrier Commerce Raider mark 2

The Holographic Hull is a question mark for me as well. I am not sure if there is a military reason for the holo hull, or if it is just aesthetic. Saving the 100 points could cut 5 tons of power plant. The holographic hull is for the commerce raider use, useful for disguising the ship. And it only ...

Re: Pirates of Drinax 2nd Ed: Typos, Errors, Bugs, Gremlins, Etc.

I think .4 tons is missing off the armour value of the ship. Bonded Superdense is .8% of tonnage. 200 * .008 * 4 points of armour is 6.4 tons Yup, displayed amount on there is wrong. The armor Cost is confusing to me as well 2.6 MCr is listed. Book price is 8% of hull cost. So what math gives 2.6 m...

13.5 tons * 2.25 = 30.375 MCr, not 3.0375. Decimal place is in wrong spot.

Re: Character creation - am I doing it right?

Looks pretty good. My first question is this: does the Mechanic 0 she gains from basic training stack with her background skill, giving her Mechanic 1? No, if you get a skill at a specific level you get it at that level, if you have the skill already at that level or higher you don't gain anything.

Ugh, why I found 1st ed so confusing.
As new things are needed after High Guard came out that tended to happen. With the 2nd edition one we did consolidate a lot of the stuff scattered across various books into the new one.

Book two, pg. 10 I get the total mass of all components as 198.6 Not that big of a deal, but your cargo space seems intended to take up all remaining mass, and you can bump it to 31.1t FWIW, I also get a cost of 354.14MCr, not a big deal though as I doubt the players will be buying harriers...
