Yeah... this was asked before, and a lot of you folks chimed in with good opinions. But, I just didn't see an official response form Mongoose. Do they monitor this forum?
Yes it is monitored, though possible that something gets missed on occasion.

At present I'm in the middle of the Rifstedge Transit.
That's ok, I'm lost somewhere in the Usani subsector at the moment.

Re: Roll20 vs Fantasy Ground

That wouldn’t work for us; roleplaying is like a theatre without an audience. Voice is vital and I wouldn’t like to play without video either. But I understand that others have other preferences - and that’s one of the beauties with PnP versus computer games, you can do it your way. I prefer text b...

I wish we could fix IRC and bring it up to modern standards.
Works fine the way it is, at least for me.

Re: Roll20 vs Fantasy Ground

In the old days we played over any video or voice chat program and used any of the free digital whiteboards for maps (Google Hangouts had real-time collaborative drawing built in). So maybe the question should be, "What benefit does having the platform support the rules actually give you"? No need ...

Not strictly required in order to make use of the material. But handy to have.

You be welcome.

Are the rules detailed in the material for use with the First Edition of Mongoose Traveller or the Second edition?
All current material is for the second edition. This includes the Element Cruiser boxed set.

We are just waiting for the last of the subsector maps to roll in, and the main book is with Marc and his Inner Circle for final approvals.
Working on them. As for final approvals, that has to wait till the subsector maps are done (at least as far as my looking it over goes).

Re: My name is my UPP

There’s other examples relating to implementation which I feel might not be relevant to Traveller (for example the surname “Null” which breaks databases) but I like to believe they’ve fixed this by TL 9+. The code-for-name, however, seems a very human error and will likely still work on people. Jus...

Synchonized jump was invented by Andrew James, Alan Welty, and Matthew Sprange in 2016.
Well, it certainly has come up before then. But it was added to the second edition of High Guard.

Nobody has tried it.

One theory is that if someone did the universe would end instantly and nobody would be aware it was tried.

Re: High Guard design options on standard ships

I get a discrepancy for the weapons, loading belt and final price. I have no idea what system "cargo airlock" is supposed to be. A cargo airlock is just a standard airlock designed for cargo purposes, usually larger then one designed for personnel (though if you happen to be a K'kree...). No rule d...

Re: Subsidized Merchant Fiances

Subsidization could include a reserved cabin or four tonne container space, when presented with the correct credentials; no questions asked. That's not subsidization. That's either black ops work, criminal smuggling, or working off the books for the ships captain to pocket the money (which, due to ...

Re: Deepnight Revelation

This has been discussed quite a bit in the context of the long term missions we already know about - Zhodani core expeditions, Solomani rimward expedition and the Imperium's 20+ year long range scouting missions. In the early days the conclusion was that the ships/fleets would include engineering s...

Re: Deepnight Revelation

Finding resources and materials along the journey will be part of the mission (you remember when the Galactica needed to find fuel, right? A bit like that, but in deep space). So there's an outer Cylon capital and another ship that was thought lost out there lurking around to help them raid the pla...
