So which cost are you talking about? Can you point me to where in the rules there are two separate life support costs?
Traveller Core Rulebook, page: 145 wrote:Running Costs Summary

The biosphere reducing life support costs is about more then just food production.
Specifically which costs are you talking about? Per the book food is included in the life support charge.
Biosphere can eliminate the per person cost part of the life support cost.

Re: Passenger Ship logistics

This has been a continuous disconnect. In the case of the biosphere, I don't think you would actually save any real money from food production. Old School brings up a very valid point - the need to stagger crops with different growing seasons/times to provide fresh fruit/vegetables. The idea always...

Re: Passenger Ship logistics

The rule about it offsetting life support costs don't match reality as the rules are written. By that I mean you incur life support costs regardless of whether or not a cabin is occupied. If that is the rule, then having hydroponics cannot offset any costs since they are fixed. But I don't think an...

You also often see times when a small ship is much smaller than the distance between the wave peaks, and bobs up and down, while a larger ship gets "caught" by being lifted unevenly across a large portion of its hull, and will pitch or roll into and out of the trough. For large modern ships this ca...

Re: 2 potential errors in Pirates of Drinax

I've never seen this mentioned in any official Traveller materials. Is it a condition of the license or something? MWM's opinion on it seems clear from his novel. (edit: Sure there's a complete new body available at TLs well beyond 15, but a specialised human DNA gender swap should be available at ...

I'The 1st is that on The Floating Palace Life Events Table A roll of A 6 then A 2nd 6 says you discover you are The Bastard Son of King Oleb but its possible for A Female to roll that event. Why? In that case the female is forced to take the gender reassignment DNA modification as Oleb wanted a son.

A bit of bad news, I am afraid. Graphics Girl Amy was forced to make the decision to leave us this week, due to ongoing health reasons. She has left a huge hole here at Mongoose, and we wish her the very best in her trials ahead. While you may not be familiar with her, you have most certainly seen ...

Never said building habitats that had the combined size of a planet. That would be rather... large. I just said large habitats. They could be O'Neill cylnders, a regular boring torus, or any other shape. The idea being that it would be easier than to try and move a planet (which even in Traveller t...

The closest game I’ve seen to Traveller is Star Traders: Frontiers, although it’s totally different to Elite
There has also been:

Trader (put out by GDW)

Megatraveller 1: The Zhodani Conspiracy
Megatraveller 2: Quest for the Ancients

Wing Commander Privateer

Re: Traveller Companion Shipped

There are 2 generals, jointly besieging an enemy in a valley. Both generals must attack at the same time or they will be defeated piecemeal. The only way they can communicate is to send a messenger through the valley, and this messenger may be intercepted. How then does any general know if his mess...
