Will the Mongoose deign to deliver the State of the Mongoose 2019 any time soon?

Just curious, when possibly the Mongoose will ride in the gilded State Coach to the ornate balcony to deliver the State of the Mongoose for the new Campaign Year, using a little snuff to overcome the stench of the unwashed assembled gamer peasantry below? Chumbly One of the unwashed gamer peasantry ...

Interesting article about the placement of Sol in Milky Way Galaxy

Interesting article on the placement of the sun(Sol) relative to the Milky Way Galaxy. I always kind of assumed from Sci-Fi(things like the Charted Space Map) that we were out closer to the Rim. but it turns out we are quite a way in(about halfway to the galactic center black hole). Using the Solar ...

Re: Deepnight Revelation

A while back, you intimated that eventually, Mongoose would take us into the 5th Frontier War
as a path for the adventure books. Are we still on that path or will Deepnight take us onto a different direction into terms
of long term adventure support and timeline? Just curious...

Re: Official Mongoose 2E Traveller ruleset on Fantasy Grounds VTT

Just a side note to the above.. many Fantasy Ground GM's use Fantasy Grounds with DIscord and Syrnscape
to provide a voice chat and sound effects over the internet for their game sessions. So you are not
forced to strictly on have a text-based chat game session.

Re: Official Mongoose 2E Traveller ruleset on Fantasy Grounds VTT

There is NO AI in Fantasy Ground VTT. There is NO replacement for the GM. It is essentially a chat system, combined with shared maps integrated with a combat tracker that is coded with the Traveller rules. It has a combat tracker and automated character sheet that allows 1 click rolling of the virtu...

Official Mongoose 2E Traveller ruleset on Fantasy Grounds VTT

Just thought I would mention it for anybody interested in playing Traveller on a VTT Since Tuesday Sept 17, there has been an official ruleset for Mongoose Traveller 2E in the Fantasy Grounds store. It is being actively worked on and supported. https://www.fantasygrounds.com/store/product.php?id=MGP...

Re: military ship naming convention?

Actually, it does make some interesting Role Playing possibilities, like the rivarly between the crews of INS Spinward Gazelle and INS Corridor Gazelle in the Trojan Reaches as to which crew and ship best embody the "TRUE" spirit of Gazelle. Also, think of this possibility. Imp Captain Juli Yuroshii...

Re: military ship naming convention?

In my personal use, I always precede the ship name with the sector name or shortened identifier for e.g. for gazelle commissioned in the Spinward Marches would INS Spinward Gazelle. The reason for this is due to the size of the Imperium, nobody can have an accurate list of unique ship names that wou...

Starport Graphic Novel by George RR Martin(Game of Thrones)

While not directly Traveller related I saw this on the Syfy News website, and thought this might be something Traveller fans might like.(Have not picked it up myself yet though), Looks lite it Would be a fun read or even perhaps provide a home brew setting for a Traveller universe. https://www.syfy....

If you say that proscribing(legalized killing of family members) child nobles is a little gruesome for your game..consider this role playing adventure possibility.. Your party is the made up of surviving family retainers/servants,devoted bodyguards and huscarles  , who are determined that the E...

Re: Would they be outlaws?

While in general, baring an unusually vindictive justice system, I would say no in an ordinary criminal sense. HOWEVER, the third imperium is feudal, with feuding houses from the Imperial family on down. Feudal house systems have a nasty historical precedent of "don't leave defeated house members(in...

Actually demanding insurance is pretty much a standard practice of secured lenders. They want the money, even if the property is destroyed. Try getting a home loan,if you tell the bank, that 1. You don't want insurance(they will assume that you mean that you will skip on the loan if the property is d...
