There is one in French Arm Adventures. The new 2300AD core book will have one in it (along with a Pentapod ship and a Sung spaceplane), and when Aerospace Engineer's Handbook (ship design and advanced rules) is released, it will have a few more.

No ducks, but there are enhanced ravens... (also, dogs, cats, octopus,maybe a horse..?) Only true Uplifts are the dolphin, and they aren't really happy about it. In other news, yes, new material will be coming. The Mongeese have two books from me at the moment, and a third, "Bayern" from Gavin Dady....

The Aerospace Engineer's Handbook has been pushed back due to the planned release of the new version of Traveller. Atlas of the French Arm is in layout right now, and should be out fairly soon. There are no rules for different atmosphere types and their effect on firearms. If you want the added complexity, say that there is a -1DM on To Hit for weapons in either Thick (or higher) or Very Thin (or lower) atmospheres. The new set of rules is called "The Aerospace Engineer's Handbook" it will be out soon. Either just before or just after Atlas of the French Arm.

The revised times are based, to an extent, on real-flight times.

As far as the Annoying Traits go, if they really, fundamentally change the character or make them unplayable, change them. The point is to have fun, afterall. Or maybe talk to your Referee, and see if you can make an END or INT check to suppress the traits for a period of time, perhaps based on the ...

I would say "Depressed" would resolve itself more as an inability to concentrate and carry through on things. I would say that it would give a -1 DM to skill checks that have already failed once, and a -1 DM to any skill check that would take longer than 10 minutes.
