Not even "Kind of"... It's not the OTU. However, the robot designs can easily be used in the OTU, or most other Traveller settings.

Re: {[Northern Edge] New TAS product: Robots
Hmmm... The courier drone has better armor than the recon drone. Must be a rough neighborhood! I like the variety though. This an area that could use some additional detailing.... The courier drone is designed to securely protect its contents. It's more about not being able to cut it open than shoo...

Re: Kaefer ships?
There is one in French Arm Adventures. The new 2300AD core book will have one in it (along with a Pentapod ship and a Sung spaceplane), and when Aerospace Engineer's Handbook (ship design and advanced rules) is released, it will have a few more.

Re: 2300AD - Standalone RPG?
That would be "Colin Dunn" :D I do not see 2300AD 2nd Ed being released as a standalone book. If anything, some of character generation complexity would be dialled back to improve the compatibility with core traveller. However, the ship design book will be stand-alone. I'm reviewing new environmenta...

Re: Ships of the French Arm
The rules themselves were good, but some of the work around them was not. Since it was my work, I can be honest about it. I've had some life challenges over the last few years, which is at the root of the slow release of material for 2300AD. I expect changes there soon. The biggest change was the wa...

Re: Ships of the French Arm
Hey... So, yeah... The ships in Ships of the French Arm were designed using a different design sequence, the Aerospace Engineer's Handbook. The intent was to publish this design sequence shortly thereafter, but there were some issues. Then v2 of Traveller was announced, and I had to revamp the desig...

The Aerospace Engineer's Handbook (currently in the hot and sweaty hands of the Mongeese) is an updated ship design system built on HG2e.

Re: 2300AD Release Schedule
No ducks, but there are enhanced ravens... (also, dogs, cats, octopus, maybe a horse..?) Only true Uplifts are the dolphin, and they aren't really happy about it. In other news, yes, new material will be coming. The Mongeese have two books from me at the moment, and a third, "Bayern" from Gavin Dady....

Me too! Wait...
I guess that means I have to write it.
30% complete on the Core book, 80% complete on the Aerospace Engineer's Handbook. Work underway on the new intro adventure.

Re: 2300AD future products?
The Aerospace Engineer's Handbook has been pushed back due to the planned release of the new version of Traveller. Atlas of the French Arm is in layout right now, and should be out fairly soon. I am currently working on Aliens of the French Arm. As noted above, Gavin has finished the Bayern campaign...

Re: 2300AD: weapons in hostile environment
There are no rules for different atmosphere types and their effect on firearms. If you want the added complexity, say that there is a -1DM on To Hit for weapons in either Thick (or higher) or Very Thin (or lower) atmospheres. Add another -1DM for Corrosive or Insidious Atmospheres. All weapons can f...

Re: Hypersonic suborbital aircraft design quandary
Originally, there had been a "hypersonic" mod for Jet Aircraft Chassis. but I coldn't make it work out how I wanted. I didn't use a separate chassis, though that works too. My version had a mod that boosted speed and range, at the expense of space and cost. I wouldn't mind seeing your "hypersonic" c...

Re: Back to 2300AD
The new set of rules is called "The Aerospace Engineer's Handbook" it will be out soon. Either just before or just after Atlas of the French Arm.
The revised times are based, to an extent, on real-flight times.

Re: 2300AD: Missing disadvantage: Depressed
As far as the Annoying Traits go, if they really, fundamentally change the character or make them unplayable, change them. The point is to have fun, afterall. Or maybe talk to your Referee, and see if you can make an END or INT check to suppress the traits for a period of time, perhaps based on the ...

Re: 2300AD: Missing disadvantage: Depressed
I would say "Depressed" would resolve itself more as an inability to concentrate and carry through on things. I would say that it would give a -1 DM to skill checks that have already failed once, and a -1 DM to any skill check that would take longer than 10 minutes.
