Re: Resident Zhodani expert?

Not canon, but if you like, there's a (my) Classic take on a Tavrchedl' career in Freelance Traveller, August 2014 (https://www.freelancetraveller.com/magazine/2014-08 and https://www.freelancetrveller.com/featu ... chedl.html)

Re: [Artwork]Customs Inspection

I'd like two things from you; please consider them as separate requests; my desire for either is not dependent on getting the other. 1. Permission to use this piece as a future cover for Freelance Traveller . 2. An article from you about your Traveller art and how you do it, from deciding on the sub...

Re: A puzzling announcement, but one nevertheless likely to be of interest here...

I hope it isn't a revised "cut down" reprint of the original book. Just from the size of the book your loosing sixteen pages from original (304pg) to this book (288pg). Agreed, but note also that that difference is actually small enough that it could arise from minor format changes, such as font ch...

Re: A puzzling announcement, but one nevertheless likely to be of interest here...

Do I have to buy yet another copy despite kickstarting the original book at the highest level to get the latest text? Probably; Baen was not involved in the original kickstart/publication. If you have the relevant information, you might want to write to Marc and to Toni Weisskopf (Baen Boss) and in...

Also, was the first edition published by Baen? If not, publishing with a reputable sci-fi publisher like Baen could do wonders for the book.
No, the previous publication was under FFE's own imprint; I do agree that a republishing under the Baen imprint won't hurt.

A puzzling announcement, but one nevertheless likely to be of interest here...

I am "on" the Baen Books discussion forums. They have a section/conference/ newsgroup/area set aside specifically for announcing Electronic Advance Reader Copies ("eARCs") of forthcoming titles. Today, 4 August 2020, in that area, I found the following: Hi folks, Marc Miller's Agent of the Imperium ...

Excellent! I've been waiting for the article on Jump Masking and Interstellar Courses for a while now. By the way, did the author or one of the users here already do the math on the jump shadow the super-massive black hole at the center of our galaxy would/should produce? If the author did, it wasn...

I've been known to forget to update the links on .../magazine/, but on the permalink page they should be OK. I did not , however, forget this time. I recommend that if you think you're getting incorrect links to the magazine on the "front page" (not the permalink), you either clear your browser cach...

Re: What is the salary for crew filling two position?

Hello FreeTrav, I just thought about a solution while looking at this thread. The suggestion is for the primary position to get the full standard salary and the secondary position to get 50 or 75% of the salary. That's more-or-less what I came up with - the full higher salary plus half of the lower...

I know that one of the coreward Sectors has a TL 17 world. Don't remember coordinates. It is in Lishun-Sector, and it is Red-Zoned. The TL-17 Androids there replaced their organic masters ( killed them all off, is the read-between-the-lines here ); the 3rd Imperium has it quarantined offlimits. Not...

Re: What is the salary for crew filling two position?

What are the two positions (and ship) in question? It'll depend a lot on the circumstances. In the particular case asked about (I'm the original querent from the TML), one position was made up, the other varied - there was one pilot-plus, one engineer-plus, one gunner-plus, and three new-position-o...

[Freelance Traveller] May/June 2020 pending - ISSUE 100 BEGINNING PREP

The only thing that the May/June issue of Freelance Traveller is waiting for is some time-dependent information, so it will be out on time, COVID stress notwithstanding! I'm starting to compile articles for the July/August issue, but it occurs to me that it wouldn't be inappropriate to do something ...
