Re: Medical care cost

In character creation, the 5,000Cr per point medical bill is for permanent characteristic point losses. For regular healing it's probably too steep. The situation arose tonite when the Travellers had to go to the hospital: I charged 500 Cr for slow drugs +10% of the monthly pay of a medic aboard a s...

Re: New Era, how accurate?

It’s funny, based on GURPS Interstellar Wars, I’ve always viewed the Vilani as being inspired by the Chinese empire.

Re: POLL: Naval Campaigns

For the time being, I'm not running a naval campaign (I'm still learning to master the rules and getting a good grasp of the spirit of the game).

Re: New Era, how accurate?

Yes, but what lead to the fall of the second imperium? If it’s not the virus, what is it? And I have the feeling that even the virus was the proverbial last nail in the coffin but not the profound reason .The first imperium lasted because of Vilani’s protocols which managed to articulate a vast empi...

New Era, how accurate?

I’m new and frantic about Traveller’s lore. I read In several sources (Wiki Traveller for a start) that the New Era’s virus wasn’t everybody’s cup of tea. Some hard Traveller fans didn’t like it. I’m reading about the Long Night, right after the fall of the Rule of Man and I am confused: in the Mong...

Re: New to Traveller... questions

1) Yep, I thought personal sensors, not starships', so IR goggles it is. 2) The thing is, Tinath is a TL6 world but Matig and Tleroti are both TL11 worlds located a couple of parsecs away from Tinath, since I suppose they trade, Tinath can have up to TL11 technology even if it would be non-standard ...

Re: New to Traveller... questions

I started to run the third scenario of the starter set's mini-campaign "The fall of Tinath" and I'd have a couple of questions: 1) Page 83, the second paragraph reads: "As they make their transit, the Travellers’ sensors may pick up heat signatures". What kind of sensors are those? I checked the cor...

Re: New to Traveller... questions

Unfortunately, neither Netflix nor Amazon prime video has Firefly in streaming in France (but I watched Serenity ^^). Would you guys know some TV shows/Movies with a Traveller feel to it?

Re: New to Traveller... questions

You’ve been really helpful :) I love the Starter Set ‘cause it allows you to start small. For the time being my players enjoy Traveller but they have one minor concern: when featuring SF universes it’s often tricky to conjure up the right pictures, feelings of this universe: for Star Wars or Star Tr...

Thanks, that was really helpful. I'm new at Traveller and my players feel they are really underequipped when facing an Essarie drone.

Re: New to Traveller... questions

Thanks guys, I'm having a look at the Central Supply Catalog and there are indeed some options (armor-piercing weapons especially). Another question: in the Core Book, p192, the Ship's Boat is described as having "Fixed-mount" as a weapon; is it a reference to Mounted weapons p157, and if so we may ...

Re: New to Traveller... questions

Hello, I'm currently running the Starter Set campaign 'The fall of Tinath" and we are at Chapter ten "Captive audience". My players raised an alarm and an Essaries drone came by, they decided to shoot it down but he darn thing has a 20 armor and their weapons don't deal enough damage (ACR and submac...

I launched a homebrew campaign, originally to test GURPS Fantasy rules but I wasn't convinced (the system's too slow for my players). SO i'm considering moving on to RuneQuest ^^ My campaign starts in 1550 in France. The PCs are an Inquisitor from Rome, a noble whose brother is coming to claim a cit...

AP times covered areas ^^
Thanks a lot I didn't have the formula.

Anyway A&E is a very cool sourcebook, I especially enjoyed the idea of giving bonus to skill while wearing certain cloths (+5% to influence rolls when girl's wearing a corset lol loved that)
